I was just wondering how you get home from giants stadium. The best route i feel is to take 17N to 80E than to GW Bridge.
I've made it from Babylon on L I to GW Bridge in 50 minutes, granted it was after having started at about 8:30AM for a 1PM game. Coming home, the GW is certainly an option, usually take the Cross Island down to the Southern State Pkwy, as there is normally less traffic there than the LIE or Northern State. I've found that taking a route through Manhattan after a game is pretty bad, as the tunnels typically have 30Min+ delays.
gotta say my experiences coming home differ from Koz's..... I've been going to games for a loong time now and always went home via GW bridge.and it always took me 3 hours....sometimes an hour and a half alone just to get to the bridge....then again maybe I approach the bridge the wrong way This season I've been taking 3 E to the Lincoln tunnel..........with no problems whatsoever......it's basically cut an hour off of my usual trip home The key in going through Manhattan is not to follow the normal routes across to the midtown tunnel, (seems like most people who are unfamiliar with driving through Manhattan just follow everyone else, when there's 800 hundred ways to get to the same spot, it's all square blocks in midtown afterall)...so as soon as you get through the Lincoln tunnel i head up town a few blocks to the low 40's....shoot across to 2nd avenue ...and down to the Midtown tunnel......obviously once though the midtown tunnel you'll get in a little traffic, but you'll have options to go to Grand Central or Southern St eventually if the LIE is too backed up ( so far this season I haven't hit major delays to the tunnels, or at least shorter than the wait for the bridge)
i feel stoppin at that dunkin donuts after the game. usually adds a little to my commute but well worth it for a dunkachino.
