New VP would need to be approved by Congress so would need to be someone closer to the middle. Manchin and a few other Dems would likely not vote for any far left VP. I'm not even sure if it would just take 50 in the Senate or if it's 60. And if it is 50 and they have a split vote you no longer have the VP to cast the tie breaker.
Would maybe be a good thing in the long run. Dems. maybe see the light and push a more moderate candidate out there in 2024. While the Reps. do the same to distance from Trump a little. I know, just wishful thinking. Hell maybe a split ticket of Hogan/Manchin. I think I might get behind that.
Its a simple majority. If its deadlocked in the Senate the President pro tempore would get the tiebreaking vote and the person is presently Patrick Leahy D-VT (Not Pat Leahy, Jets Kicker)
If the populists keep control of the GOP I could see Hogan switching parties. Probably not for 2024 though. More of a shot in 2028 if we get another disastrous Trump/DeSantis type Presidency. By that point the Dem Left will be in tatters after losing 2 important elections in a row ('22 and '24) and unless I miss my guess the Dems will be tacking to the Right in '26 after that.
Biden is incoherent and says stupid shit. Harris will be coherent and say stupid shit. It's an upgrade.
China might invade us and sacrifice 100,000 soldiers just as a test run if Kamala takes over the throne. We will be a global laughing stock and she won’t be able to laugh her way out of it.
How would China invading and getting their asses kicked make us the laughingstock? Wouldn’t it be the other way around
She's not ready for the big chair. No mystery there. That's why the Gov't pretty much runs itself and Joe rubber stamps what is put in front of him. Kamala would have made a better AG than Garland. Old Joe f'd up that pick.
I was being facetious. We will be a global laughing stock if she gets installed and I expect a lot of aggression out of our enemies.
