Fired Minneapolis officer had 18 complaints against him

    From CNN's Melissa Alonso

Derek Chauvin, the former police officer seen with his knee on George Floyd’s neck, had 18 prior complaints filed with Minneapolis Police Department's (MPD) Internal Affairs, according to MPD.

It's not clear what the internal affairs complaints were for and no detail was provided by MPD.

Only two of the 18 complaints against Chauvin were "closed with discipline," according to a MPD internal affairs public summary.

The "discipline issued" column listed a letter of reprimand for each of the two complaints.

Former officer Tou Thao had six complaints filed with internal affairs, one of which was still open, the summary said. The other five were closed without discipline.

Whoever volunteers to clean up a multi-billion dollar companies store for free is the real sucker of society.

I don't agree with that viewpoint.

    This is their neighborhood.
They are trying to clean it up and keeping it from becoming a complete shithole.

    Should they do nothing?

Nah it's nice that they're helping. It was more of a shock value comment.

People should want to keep their communities from turning into Detroit of the 90s and 2000s. It will help encourage businesses to stay, keep money in the local economy and jobs in the community.

If this keeps going, then Minneapolis is going to be an absolute dump with businesses staying very far away for a long time.

Don't forget that one of the other police murders you're referencing, Philando Castro, was murdered by a Hispanic police officer. Definitely a big police department issue here, whether racism played a part in it or not.

And I honestly believe racism did play a part in this one. Something needs to give.

An actor named Shameik Moore had an interesting take.

The guy who chainsawed the police camera attached to a stoplight, I fully support.

Looting private businesses is stupid, the anger should be directed at the government, not the private businesses. Private businesses are victims of the government to.

Quiet, Shameik, a lot of people have too much invested in seeing black men continue to be killed.

nothing to see here, folks. Keep resisting arrest, keep talking back, keep attacking police. My white brothers and sisters will praise you when you are gone for your courage.

It's pretty much settled. Stacey Abrams incoming.

Unless the Democrats pull a real card and go with Michelle Obama (maybe even as the candidate?). They really should just pull Biden and be done with. It's really bad if they go through with him as the candidate.

    ...and knee happy.

I thought they had put a civilian review board in place after that Noor shooting.

    Let me guess...it's a democratic run city...amirite?

Well, there are around 800,000 police officers in the us. There are about 12-15 high profile cases of police brutality/alleged brutality over the last 4-6 years.

They are stupid for not arresting the officers involved.

    Why wait?
