He’s supposed to switch the knee to the upper back after gaining control. And if the lazy ass parter wasn’t just standing there, he’s supposed to help get the cuffs on. I know there was more that happened before that, but that was poorly handled.

The guy was in cuffs and died later.
I believe he was already cuffed when the Cop had his knee on his throat.

Pretty much the max action that could be taken immediately. The legal process will take a little bit.

    Arrest them.

    Do it Roger Stone style.

Full SWAT take-down with live media coverage.

The fact that this cop isn't behind bars is a crime in and of itself.

This is way beyond a 'black lives matter' thing.
He murdered that man in cold blood....while his compatriots watched and did nothing.

Ideally the officers would be convicted of murder, but at the very least, there have to be manslaughter convictions. Law enforcement isn't above the law.

Thats borderline the worst police involved death I have ever seen. This isn't panic of the moment reaction shooting, this is a long drawn out suffocation where any of them should have immediately realized that he was KO'd. Its as bad as it gets and everyone there should face severe consequences.

The other issue with these types of things, are that the standards to become a police officer has never been lower. I know for a fact that the NYPD (for example) hires people who are borderline incapable of working any sort of job that require little to no skill (grocery store bagger, burger flippers), lack any sort of common sense, do things consistently that would get you fired at any other job (but not at a civil service job), but then get a badge, gun and handcuffs and told to enforce laws that they have no understanding of. Granted you need 60 college credits, but college is a borderline joke nowadays.

    You're right.

It's hard to wrap one's mind around it.

I'd like to think if I was among the onlookers I would have done something...anything to get that cop off him.

This is 100 true. I have 2 family members in the Suffolk county pd. Their academy is the toughest in the country. They get paid well... nyc , for all they have have to deal with make a lot less , and do it with a fraction of the training. I’m sure that goes for a lot of metro areas as well.
