Peyton is on one elite offense and will win NFL MVP. Geno was something surprising I bet. Congrats to Geno on a good week, lets go at it this week at home however.
I mentioned this in a different thread, but once the Jets announced Geno as a starter, I put $50 on him to win OROY. It would pay $1K.
Logically you would think so, yes. But I think that one is voted by fans and he's a Jet so probably not. I could could be wrong though, maybe it isn't voted on.
He totally deserved it--he was outstanding. He was the talk of the weekend, and you just can't give it to Peyton every week. And even if you could, Geno's game stacks up pretty well with Manning's when you count the INT. _
Peyton should have got it but I like that the NFL gives awards out to a variety of players. Like when Adrian Peterson had the greatest comeback of all time but didn't win comeback player of the year because he was the MVP.
If Peyton won it no one would have said anything but you have to factor in circumstances. Peyton was a big favorite on the road and while he had 1 more TD he had 1 more INT. Geno was a heavy underdog in a tough building top win in for opposing teams and was excellent through culminating w/ an outstanding drive to set up the GW FG. Geno deserved it.
Does anyone know where I can find the final drive in it's entirety (not a highlight package)? I have NFL Max, but the game was not a part of the Sunday Ticket package, so it's not eligible for replay...
even with his turnovers in earlier games, I was glad to see that he spreads the ball around, which makes everyone play better. Not trying to draw too close an analogy but i remember when Brady started stepping in for Bledsoe the first thing i noticed is he was spreading the ball around and the box scores were showing many names with receptions. now that he seems to be taking better care of the ball, Geno will be that much more fun to watch
