This is a serious question Jets fans. I know it’s early in all but did you feel better about the direction of the Jets after 6 games with Gase or Saleh at this point?

Gase offered less upside. Saleh offers about as much in the present as Gase did though.

Do you like eating dog shit or cat shit is basically the question at this juncture though.

I said this when we hired Saleh - he was an over-correction from Gase.

We went from introverted, pure X's and O's guy with zero personality or leadership skills to extroverted rah rah guy with no ability to scheme. Saleh also apparently can't even get his team to play hard. We hired a defense-first head coach who just gave up a billion points to our biggest rivals.

As an organization we don't even learn the right lessons from our fuck ups which is why we fuck up over and over again.

You laid it out perfectly though. Usually rah-rah coaches are like Rex + Bowles and manage the game horribly while having their players run around like dumbfucks taking poor angles, committing over-aggressive penalties and such.

Saleh isn't even a rah-rah coach at this point. It's a top down coaching failure.

Gase was an obvious disaster from the second he was hired and he was the most unlikeable prick I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching coach. It’s one thing to be a cunt of the nth degree if you’re a great coach. This guy has an ego the size of the universe and he’s done absolutely nothing without pey-pey’s help. I’d take 100 6 game stretches of Saleh like this before I’d ever want to watch that loser coach or give a presser again.

Is that a suggestion that comes from personal experience?

The poll included in this thread is as fucked up as our team...

    Gase or Saleh?

    Gase or Lefleur?
    1. Gase
    2. Saleh

Can I pick all the above?

I was thinking about this today. As bad as Gase was, it was never this bad. No excuses but we should have went and got a veteran HC or someone who was established. Different sport but I look at how the Knicks got Thibs and he instantly turned the franchise around. They aren't super talented but they play hard. When you're down 14-0 in the first 7 minutes of the game, thats on the coaching staff getting these guys ready to play.

The only difference is that Gase had proven before he got here that he should not be hired. Saleh came here with a rather thin resume and filled his cabinet with the same, but he is here through the season and into next unless there is a complete breakdown and revolution in the locker room. The earliest possible time I see Saleh being released is bye week...next year.

I think you're right but if we continue to play like this he should be gone at the end of the season.

Continuity is overrated. A far bigger trap teams run into is retaining players and coaches who are clearly bad for too long. Truly good coaches turn bad teams around very quickly. We are worse under Saleh than we were with Gase, and Saleh has a lot more talent to work with than Gase did.

I think you're not the only one who, at one time overestimated the talents of Saleh and the players he has to work with.

Bump. As much as Gase sucked, his defenses were never as bad as what we’ve seen the last 4 weeks. Saleh is a former DC too. This is really unacceptable.

I'll take Bowles. He was the right hire and he didn't work out. But he coached Super Bowl teams when he was here compared to the product these two clowns have rolled out the past three years.

We’ve gone backwards from Todd Bowles. Let that sink in for a minute.

The Jets would’ve put up 10 points in the last two games if we had Adam Gase as HC. The fact that our offense is over 400 yards of offense and 30 points 2 weeks in a row is nice.
