Gase says he'd rather focus on the mental side of the game and teaching the rookies life skills than hold traditional practices. I'm with him on this one. Maybe he'll get through to Polite. https://www.nj.com/jets/2019/05/why...p-adam-gase-explains-his-unusual-process.html
I’m with you on thinking this is a good idea. The rams have a course they do before any rookies get their signing bonuses. What exactly are you hoping they get through to Polite about though?
Unfortunately, it is written in stone that he has an attitude problem, so it will be with him for quite a while now.
Again, anyone who doesn't prepare themselves for the most important stretch of meetings and performances in their life, and then complains that he's being treated unfairly by those he was meant to impress, either has a bad attitude, or is stupid. And since you can't fix stupid, we'd better hope it's his attitude.
It is an inability to grasp the playbook that most commonly keeps rookies on the bench. having them sit and learn that instead of jogging around in shorts in May seems like a good idea
a 1st round talent doesn't fall to late 3rd round by making one mistake. Polite has issues beyond the combine. issues that could be fixed though, I'm not negative on his future
Well nobody really knows what it is, the truth hasn't been put out there, just the usual rumours, the kid talked it up afterwards and came across as more than okay, explained his poor combine with a plausible reason, of course, it may be that he is making an excuse for being lazy and his weight gain before the combine but that would seem very very stupid to me, the one chance to impress and earn an nfl contract. Anyway I digress, his supposed attitude doesn't bother me in the slightest as I think it has been blown up out of all proportion, the proof will be in the pudding come training camp proper and then the preseason games, we will see then what kind of character he has.
The big mistake, if he was a first round talent, is losing out on $10 million by slipping to the third round.
What. you're saying he just had a bad day? Come on. You don't make those types of poor decisions all of a sudden. A lot of GMs had concerns about him, which is why he fell to the third round. And that poor decision-making speaks to his character, his work ethic. As I said before, that CAN be fixed, IF he wants to and works hard at changing, and it's better than if he were just stupid, but it's still a major concern. We all have to simply hope for the best at this point.
Life skills. Is that something like wearing a condom or not leaving an empty tea-pot on high on the stove? I don't disagree with this at all, but I remember YEARS ago the NBA was sending rookies to classes and lectures that unprotected sex = babies. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt. I'm not making this up. It was mostly about protecting their money, but I never heard of such a thing in my life. If you put your thing in another thing, then this other thing happens. OK, let me write that down.
Change what though? How do you know what it is he needs to change before proclaiming he needs to change it? Have there been concerns that he doesn't work hard for you to capitalise the IF? He said he was advised to beef up for the combine by his agent, he put on a bad 20lb of fat and flopped and gave himself a strain, now if you don't believe his own words on that then nobody can help you further on that subject. You are just a guy on the internet (no disrespect intended) that has heard some rumours from some faceless people, that still has no real substance so far. So unless you care to tell us exactly what he has said and done during the interview process then again it is he said she said scenario with no real facts on the table A little scenario could well be he flunked one interview and that one guy phoned all his pals and said that Polite was a shithead in our interview and then they all avoided him, I don't know and frankly I don't really care, he is our player now and I am sick of reading stuff from dolly downers about every single aspect of our draft, it has become boring, it is done and dusted just like Mahomes and fucking Dan Marino. Look forward to life it might surprise you and if not then it won't be any different than the last 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years.
Maybe they should include a morning session of how not to smack your bitch up and break your kids arm just to be on the safe side.
That is for Gase and his staff to learn now and for the rest of us to hear about during Polite's deeply grateful Hall of Fame induction speech.
Adrian Peterson has the floor: https://blacksportsonline.com/2018/...inch-says-he-beat-his-kid-just-the-other-day/
First time I have seen those pics of AP's kid, that is fucking disgusting, I can not believe that piece of shit didn't get thrown in a cell, WTF can a 4yo have done to deserve that many swings of a switch, not a light tap to give them food for thought but a fucking absolute leathering to produce those wields and cuts. Sickening stuff tbh
Gase could sit in a circle playing duck duck goose with the rooks for all I care. Whatever works. Nothing has worked in 50 plus years so fuck it. This whole year, whole team, is a “fuck it” from me. Not to be confused with free pass. Just fuck it let this lunatic looking coach do his thing, let the Bell’s do their thing, let Adams chirp.... whatever Just win Next year I’ll complain. And HARD.
