I thought this was a really interesting podcast, Garrett talks to some ex-NFL players about being in the league, and they talk about stuff like managing money and relationships, and living life as a newly rich and famous dude in NYC, and staying focused. Conversations that many rookies should be having IMO. Garrett seems a quiet homebody who just likes to go about his business, and shies away from publicity and fame. His business is producing on the field. It sounds like his dad (prolific D1 college basketball player Kenny Wilson) has given him some good advice on being a pro athlete.
Nice gonna take a listen to it. I posted an interview Jermaine Johnson had a few weeks back and enjoyed getting a glimpse of the young guys personality, and looking forward to seeing Wilson's as well. These guys as a collective are pretty good as well so it should be a good episode.
The best part of the video is him learning what's going to happen at the dinner where he takes out the WR corps and treats them to dinner.
Lots of gems here, but the funnest part was when they point out that he needs to go out there and perform against Sauce in practice, and you can see that Wilson knows he has his work cut out for him against Sauce every day. Wilson says that Sauce is a dog, and that he had two picks in practice yesterday, and they were both hard picks -- none of this "thrown right to him" stuff. It's pretty clear from his body language that he sees Sauce as being at a different level than the DBs he has lined up against in the past. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
