I'm going to miss this kid when he inevitably leaves in the next year or so. He's worked his way into my top Jet players of all time. Love the kid, and he's already sick of the SOJ nonsense. Not nonsense as in it doesn't exist, but in that it permeates throughout everything they do. Very interesting article. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/59...olphins-garrett-wilson-contract/?redirected=1
This guy is going to be off the team in a couple years. Either via trade or he'll just walk in free agency. Why would anybody want to destroy their career by staying here? I don't want him to walk, but at this point, it's inevitable. I don't see things getting better any time soon.
I’m not saying he isn’t very good, but I don’t think he’s as good as most Jets fans think. He and Rodgers have never been on the same page. He’s facing much more traditional coverage concepts with Rodgers at QB? and seems to not be making the right adjustments based on what he’s seeing. Put it this way, he’s much more Tee Higgins than Jamar Chase. I think we need another high caliber receiver on the team once Adams departs at the end of the season.
No disagreement in that I think he’s below the top tier when we all thought he would/could be in the top tier. But I think he’s very coachable and very easily the most talented receiver we’ve had here since Keyshawn. Unfortunately I think he’s going to request a trade this offseason so we’re going to have to try to pay him in a tier he hasn’t proved to be in yet or watch another potential holdout situation unfold.
Considering we’ve had Holmes, Edwards, Brandon Marshall, L Coles, and Eric Decker here since Keyshawn I don’t know that I can agree with that statement. We still have him under contract for 3 more years, he can request whatever he wants but he isn’t getting it. If we can draft a bonafide #1 and somehow upgrade the TE position while employing an OC that knows how to use a TE, then I think we’ll have a solid base to build the offense. Personally I’d trade Sauce now and yse those picks to build offense. Over and over we prove how easy it is to revamp and field a top 10 D. If we’re going to suck next year (we will), let’s not worry at all about D and build a great O that is ready and in place for a rookie QB in 2026 to step into. Then worry about D.
I agree. I think he's excellent. I'm not sure his lack of chemistry with Rodgers is all his fault anyway. There are probably multiple factors that figured into his lack of production. I think he has huge potential, and the Jets should make every reasonable effort to keep him.
