It looks like he is a late riser as I've seen a few mocks have him go to Cincy in the first round. Seems like a pretty solid CB prospect; 6'2, 4.4 speed, 2 year starter at OSU, no medical red flags like Lattimore. Thoughts?
Pass still Ohio St. They have burned us like no other school. Gholston, Smith, Schlegel, Nugent. Fast risers and workout warrior you should always be leary of.
Using the #6 pick in a CB-deep draft to take a CB with good value still available in the 2nd round? I'm thinking bad thoughts.
No but I'll take Hooker or Lattimore at that spot. If we don't go secondary at 6 there will be great options at 39 still.
I'm not advocating taking Conley at #6, there will be many better options, but Conley is a solid player. In fact, Conley was probably a more consistent player than Lattimore. Lattimore has a much better upside in the NFL to be a lock down corner. If the Jets trade down into the mid round one area, Conley should be a strong consideration. IMO, I really prefer the Jets not to draft a CB in Rd 1, there will be a lot of solid options in Rd 2. If Fournette is gone, the Jets will probably go Safety or Howard in Rd 1.
Conley will be in for a visit tomorrow. I doubt very much he is in play at 6 but could be taken if we trade back or in the second round of he falls that far.
Looks like Conley, Harris & Njoka maybe who the Jets are targeting in a trade down scenario.I can get on board w. all 3... This is not a popular sentiment & I share the concern regarding the hamstring..but after spending the better part of a day studying a large portion of the highly rated CBs of this class...Lattimore appears to be far & away the best guy on tape. That's before considering his top flight combine work out.
The Ohio State DBs are probably over-rated at this point. Don't get me wrong, all three guys are good players and are probably legit first rounders. With that being said, as a unit they were able to cover for each other and make each other look better. Are we really supposed to believe that the #1 safety and the top two corners are all coming from the same team? Unless the draft falls badly for us I don't see any of these guys being the best value at #6 overall.
2010 LSU team when they had Patrick Peterson, Honey Badger and Morris Claiborne. Hooker is the only defensive back id take from OSU. They tried to throw away from Hooker, especially during the bowl game.
If a trade down happens, he could be the guy mid to late round one..... Not at 6 Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
When Hooker was on the scouting team, the dude against the OSU offense picked them off 40 times. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...nior-bowl-buzz-and-updated-2-round-mock-draft That is unbelievable.
