Two inconsistent players oozing with talent. These guys will be battling all game long, and the biggest plays in the game will likely come from one of the guys in this matchup. Garcon drops too many passes and doesn't always run the right route, but he can also make circus catches and be a tough mix of size, speed, and physicality. Cromartie, we all know is extremely gifted with size and speed, but he has mental lapses as well. But he's also had a lot of history with Peyton, picking him off a few times in his past. If he's on his game, he has the ability to blanket Garcon and possibly even make a big play or two for us. Whoever wins this matchup has a damn good chance of winning the game.
Should be fun to watch. I expect Peyton to throw that way a lot because of what the medias been saying about Cromartie and Manning
The problem with this matchup is Garcon is a quick shifty type of guy and Cro has had serious issues covering these type of players Idealy, the best matchup for us would be Revis (with a 100% hammy running full speed) on Garcon and Cro on Wayne
Garçon isn't really a slot type receiver. He reminds me of Colston. Physical guy with length that can make big plays.
im hoping to see the defense come out rolling, so id expect cro to be ready to terrorize peyton with revis.
Cromartie needs to know when to play tight, and when to back off. We've seen him draw DPI calls all season long, and now is not the time to get calls against you.
I think it's a little overemphasized when people say Cromartie can't cover shifty guys. It's not his specialty, but he can do it. (See the Bengals game vs. Ochocinco)
He looks like he's wearing roller skates when he has to cover guys that are quick out of their breaks Big physical WR's that press on you and get cover guys to out compete them or play jump ball, Cro is a great matchup. But shifty, quick, lateral motion guys... not so much
