I'm Wondering how many Game winning drives Sanchez has led us to so far in his career. Don't think there's an official stat but does anybody have the number ?
5 fourth quarter comebacks, 7 game winning drives. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/play-index/comeback.cgi?player=SancMa00
4th quarter comebacks are great and exciting but i would rather take a safe lead going into the 4th quarter anyday rather than havin to come back and be on the edge of my seat. How many games this past year could Jet fans honestly relax at during the 4th quarter maybe about 2-3.
It's easier for a QB (a not highly experienced QB) to improve his game when the pressure is not on his shoulders than when the game is on the line. That's what I love about that stat. Comebacks is not something every QB can do, and not something coachable.
i'd recommend you get that one out of your head as soon as possible, you'll go crazy if you keep thinking about it. that being said, outside of 1 more possession against the steelers, we really can't ask for much more, or a better start to this guy's career as a Jet. Feels awfully good to know that he's still got a long way until he reaches his peak, he's gonna great before long.
Me too bro, You learn alot from a Young QB when he has one more shot and no room for error, And Sanchez was really good this past season I just wasn't shure how many times he did it. It's a Great Stat.
That's the thing about the playoffs though, you have like 28 months until the next game to think about it. I kept wishing that 3rd and 6 pass had popped up off of Miller into Revis' hands, then in the Super Bowl, unless it was a mirage, I think one of the first passes to him popped up in the air. Fuckers.
Everyone would rather not have to comeback. Having a QB who is capable of doing it is pretty important if you are looking to win a superbowl. Things aren't going to fall right for the Jets and knowing that Sanchez can overcome adversity is huge. With Sanchez the Jets are never out of a game, going back to the days of Chad, going down by more than one score felt like the end of the world. I think even attempting to find fault in game winning drives and comebacks is ridiculous.
A few per season is good prep for the playoffs. If you win by large margins all the time, it's hard to know how to play close ones when the playoffs come (Pats in '07 and '10).
Pretty awesome, 1 his rookie, and 6 in year two. I'd say that's a nice jump. Even better is that he was calling the plays on most of the game winning drives this year. Peyton had 1 his rookie year and 7 the next. (just saying) Those were Marvin Harrison in his prime years too.
I'm expecting a huge 3rd year from sanchez. Kid's made big strides in Year 2 and i expect Elite like play in Part 3.
Sanchez > Freeman > Stafford. Although Freeman's not too far behind Sanchez has that "IT" factor we talk about. We have yet to see that from Josh. Definitely the QB of the 09 draft class.
If you talk to anyone in that division, they'll tell you Freeman has it. I think the kid needs to beat top teams before I'm convinced though. And the win he had this year against shit talent he had to make a comeback to beat them.
