Studs Defense - the defense help up surprisingly well against the bills. diggs did win more often then not against echols but echols played him tough and had a few nice stops. hall mostly shut down his side of the field. they were gifted a TD right off the bat (which wasn't a TD and essentially gave them 4 free points) and to start the 4th it was 13-10 bills (should have been 10-9 us). even when they blocked out punt and started on our 35 they got 0 points from it. The bills haven't punted in their past 2 games and we made them punt 7 times plus a turnover on downs. The score looked worse then it was thanks to 2 4th quarter TDs but the defense got 0 help from an offense that put up 53 total yards and a net of 5 passing yards and we lost the TOP battle by 14 mins. coaching staff - again in back to back weeks against playoff teams with nothing to play for and badly outmatched the jets came out hard and fighting and ready. I know it sucks to sitll lose but it's a big improvement from rolling over and taking it every game. we had every reason not to fight out there but saleh has this team fighting and it's a good sign of things to come once we get more talent mann/pinero - pinero has been the best kicker we've had this year (low bar though) and was perfect for the day. mann did have a punt blocked, not by his own fault but averaged almost 50 yards a punt on 10 punts some going into 20MPH winds. also had a few nice ones where he pinned them. mann had probably his best overall day as a punter and pinero showed he should get a chance to compete next year to make the roster Duds Offense - that was a brutal watch. injuries killed us especially on the o-line where zach was sacked 9 times and pressure many more. our bad group of WRs thanks to the top 4 all being out weren't getting open. without berrios and crowder we couldn't run trick plays. once crowder was out it hurt the playbook a lot. mims continues to disappoint. was barely in and in 1 play after the play I seen zach talking to him and mims looked upset and frustrated had 0 catches on 2 targets and was surpassed on the depth chart by yet another random waiver guy in UDFA rookie tarik black. mims future here doesn't look good at all at this point.
Yeah, JFM and the boys looked pretty good on defense. Proud of the entire unit. Cole finally stepped up on offense and had a few catches, including the 40 yard TD, but overall a miserable day on the offense.
The coaching staff are studs? I might remind you that the team had a total offensive production of 53 yards - the lowest yardage in the history of the team. Five passing yards! How studly do the coaches need to be to allow nine sacks? How "hard and fighting is that? They had nothing to play for? Their whole job is to put the entire team on the field to win regardless of any outside factors; that means offense, defense and special teams. The Jets had the ball for only 23 minutes in the whole game! Do the coaches bear no responsibility for any of this? It might be a good idea to put this whole studs and duds thing on hold until the team, and such lists, are no longer so embarrassing.
should have been a 10-9 game with us in the lead heading into the 4th quarter against the number 1 defense and a top team in the NFL with our trash team of rag tag backups and waiver wires. we should have been losing 50-0 at that point. some people here lack any situational context
Specifically from the defense I'd say the Williams brothers were studs. One of the few enjoyable parts of the game was watching them stuff Buffalo in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. It was cool seeing two brothers working together and succeeding.
The yardage totals actually resembled a 50-0 game. Buffalo was on cruise control and the game was never in doubt at all. It was an ass beating
Oh man. It's like to want everyone to know you have no idea what you are talking about Cruise control was the first meeting where White was tossing up picks left and right. Get a grip, chief.
There's sixty minutes in the game. The coaches need to be at their desks the whole time. They took time off, just like the players. They certainly don't deserve to be labelled studs after this performance.
I just don't think you understand context. i'll give you an example. if someone gives you a plastic knife and tells you to kill 10 people all armed with guns. and somehow by the grace of god and sheer will and determination you kill 9 of them before finally dying to the last one you wouldn't think you did a good job by at least taking out 9 of them against all odds? when realistically you should have died in 2 seconds and killed none?
Agree....that TD pass to Diggs was a bad call. Even the booth ref analyst thought he never got his second foot down. Man you think we were playing Brady or something the way they changed the call to TD.
If they hadn't overruled the initial on field call there's no way that TD would be given. It seemed to me the refs just said well we get a free video review if we call it as a TD, but the problem then is that the burden of proof changes. That's something the league need to look at.
The game reminded me of a cat that toys around with the injured mouse for an hour before biting it's head off.
The Buffalo game was pretty straight forward. In quarters 2 and 3 we beat them 10-3. In quarters 1 and 4 they destroyed us.
