Studs Flacco - our 4th QB this year and he played solid. no INTs and didn't get shakey against a ton of zero blitzes. finished with 2 TDs and almost 300 yards and 17 points plus 2 missed FGs. Moore - was our best player yesterday. 8 for 141 and a TD on 11 targets. also had a 15 yard run. Hall - another great game for him. Every week he shows he's a legit CB1. sadly with echols out we need more help opposite him. pinnock and guidry aren't doing well in spot duty outside. Carter - was averaging 7 yards per rush before getting hurt. had 63 yards on 9 carries before getting hurt in the 2nd quarter. tcole and ty couldn't replace him and the run game went south after he got hurt quincy williams - was everywhere in the run game. had 15 total tackles and 2 TFLs. lots of really nice open field stops for him astyn davis - had an INT and looked good out there. was playing loose and fast. had some big hits and took away anything deep. o-line - actually held up really well against a good miami pass rush. we replaced GVR (thank god he was finally benched) with LDT who was instantly an improvement. Lafleur - Called a great game. lots of good play calls that gave us yards out of pure scheme. Duds JFM - 0 sacks, not a lot of pressure. should have drew a couple of holding calls but the refs were bad. mostly because his stupid penalty Defense as a whole - allowing 24 points to miami is just bad. thats their 3rd highest total of the year mosley - just not getting it done out there. doesn't fit our system or play well in space. he's a downhill ILB. not doing well for us playing the will in a 4-3. Amendola - i can give him a pass on the 55 yarder but whiffed on a 40 yarder too. 13 in the game and sub 70% on the year with a long of under 50. dunn - was responsible for the long TD given up and got yelled at on the sideline for it. mental errors kill us but thats part of having a young team
Mosley showing all the signs of the traditional Jets big money free agent signing and packing his man bag full of cash for as little effort as possible, as if his first two seasons weren't bad enough. Another pile of cash down the drain and we can already see the same signs from JFM and as for the latter all that he will make happen is JD unwilling to pony up for another guy in the future in case he also downs tools as soon as the cash bag is full.
mosley was just put in a bad luck spot. in our old defense he would have been a beast. he started off amazing in that 1st game then got hurt and missed the whole season. then sat out a year for covid and came back to a new system that doens't fit his skill set. he's a big FA from an old GM built for a system we don't run anymore. I'm not gonna blame mosley for that
Good for you, I am sure if I could be arsed to go and look, there were several people arguing that this scheme would be right up his street or skill set, if you like.
Mann had 3 punts inside the 20. He had a good day. Kyle Phillips had an impact in his season debut. Had a TFL and 4 solo’s. He will def slide into the rotation as a DLine piece. I felt the DLine pressure got better. I still want to see Q play more. He only played 60% of the snaps. But it’s clear the staff wants to keep this strictly on a rotational basis but I feel like the best guys need to play. JFM was solid but had some big blunders. Quincy should be the starter from here on out with CJ. He flies to the football and just makes plays. His speed is a valuable asset. Interesting to see the WR corps basically be Davis, Moore and Crowder as Moore’s snaps increased dramatically (and rightfully so) while Cole’s decreased. Berrios and Smith played sparingly. LDT was better then GVR that’s for sure.
I agree with it all. I'd add to our studs the dolphins DC. Their cover zero with the entire defense crowding the line was a disaster all game and they kept going back to it until we finally burned them for a 64 yard TD. There was no point using that defense against us. We have a bunch of small quick receivers and Flacco isn't Lamar Jackson. It almost cost them the game.
I swear I saw a 65 yard TD, so not sure how Ashtyn didn't take everything deep. Hard hits? The only thing I can think is you're confusing him with Riley. He is still bracing 10 yards from a runner before impact. I saw him go up to make a tackle once or twice. Riley put his nose on tackles and ran towards contact much much more. His int was on a terribly thrown ball. I'll give credit for the sliding catch, but it wasn't like this amazing play. Right place, 10 plus yards away from any receiver, right time. I think the guys garbage, I'm biased.. but I think youre also showing bias with these takes that just aren't happening.
The Duds list is not complete without mentioning the awful in-game coaching. It was a winnable game... but play calls and bad clock management made that impossible.
Davis was FAR from a stud yesterday. I think the best thing you can say about him is that he wasn't a dud. That might actually be his ceiling for his entire career. "Wasn't completely inept".
moores snaps have actually gone down. the CS like to rotates to keep players. in weeks 1 and 2 he played 86% and 78% of snaps. 3 is the game he got hurt in but he was on pace for around 80% again. he missed week 4 with an injury and week 5 we got blown out and he wasn't 100% so they held him out most of the game. week 6 was the bye. since week 6 he's gotten 57%, 36% and 57%. seems the plan is to keep most players around 60% snaps and that 3 week span has been his best by far. he has 18 catches, 4 TDs, and 269 yards. the rest of the year he has 146 yards, 15 catches, 0 TDs. clearly he's doing better with less snaps which is a nice adjustment form the coaching staff.
It was dunn's fault. they explained it on the broadcast and i explained it in this thread. Me and maximus were chatting during the game and the play happened and we were like we'll have to go back and see who screwed up. Then they showed the replay and even explained how dunn messed up and me and max were like it's pretty impressive davis was even in the play. the kid has wheels. you even seen the coaching staff yelling at dunn for it after the play.
I got this from the jets article but: https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/sn...many-jets-rookies-played-against-the-dolphins Corey Davis 56 (93%) led the wide receivers, followed by rookie Elijah Moore 48 (80%), who had a career-high 8 receptions for 141 yards and 1 TD. Jamison Crowder was next with 41 (68%) followed by Keelan Cole 13 (22%), Braxton Berrios 10 (17%) and Jeff Smith 1 (2%). it does look different then another site I checked out so not sure why the difference there.
lineups and football guys both have him at 48 snaps 67% PFR has him at 48 and 80% so the number is the same. just the percents are off. I looked at flacco who was in on 100% and he played 60. so the correct % is actually 80 you guys are right. the percentages are off on the sites I was using. With that said his percentage and snap counts are still lower then it was to start the year but part of that could be crowder being out early in the year
Beginning to change my belief on the roster fat boy has put together. Good young talent in this roster, obviously need more. I’m thinking this off-season will be similar to last-medium sized risky contracts+ lot of rookies. Lots of young guys next year playing + this years +2020 guys get another year of seasoning. Following draft and off-season we sign for the fences. Figure our “window” will be 2023-2030
