Would Gabe Watson be their at 29th and/or 35th
I was thinking If we complete a trade with detroit for their 9th and 40th we take V. Davis and at 29 pick up Lawson/Watson at 35th pick up Lawson/Watson
and 40th Thomas Howard, with the 74th pick up Whitworth and with the 91st O'Callahan.

Will Whitwort and Callahan be their in the third round.

I know it might not be possible to get Lawson and/or Watson but its the NFL. They might slip down and we could steal them.

    Howard runs a 4.42 6'3 240
    Lawson runs a 4.43 6'6 245
    Watson is 344 pouds

Think about it If we can get this steal our defense wiill be explosive. With linebackers with speed like receivers and a big NT our team will be notorious

They'll be known as the '06 Jets Plus we add a TE with the speed faster than some receivers. Are you kidding me 6'4 260 4.37 42 inch vert and 33 reps

Now I checked out our new Schedule and I think it is a bit competitive but lets say we go 5-11 we will be in great shape to get either Brady Quinn or Teddy Ginn Jr. from Ohio State. Adrian Peterson said he was going to college for all four years, so don't expect to get him next draft.

I'm sure we can pick up Faine from Cleveland to replace the center position and we could also pick up Esslinger in the draft so I'm not worried about that position. Sure Mangold is good but lets be real we could create a monster defense and that is key to stop the COLTS the BRONCOS the STEELERS and PATRIOTS. Offense can develope starting with Vernon Davis

So you want to trade for Faine AND draft Eslinger, then draft Whitworth AND O'Callaghan?

    Ugh.

IMO,the 9th and 40th picks aren't nearly enough for our 4. That trade would make me donkey punch my wife.

Gabe Watson doesn't seem to try often. No way we take him.

This isn't Madden, Detriot sucks they need more then just one player. A trade like that rarely happens because of the risk involved for both parties.

These draft pick values,if not 100% accurate, are close:4th pick=2200 points; 9th=1300; 40th=520. Unless Detroit throws in a very good-great player(I don't want another middle round pick) the trade is bad for the Jets. There are, depending on who you ask,4-6 elite players in this draft, then the talent evens out around picks 7-20.The 4 pick has incredible value for a team needing to improve quickly...like the Jets.

Trading for a young center, and then taking another in the 3rd or 4th round is stupid.

We wouldn't do that with Whitworth and O'Callaghan.

can we incorporate d-rob in that trade. I really want Charles Rodgers but I don't know if they will take D-RoB with his overpaid non productive ass. But some how we can get either Charles R. or Mike Williams cause they have three receivers and we need a big guy. Who can we include to get Charles R.

    Whitworth can play RT
    Callahan can play RG
and if ever people are not certain about Faine we could address another center in the draft. No way do I want to use a 3rd or 4th but maybe a 5th or 6th.

Callahan is a wall and Whitworth would do good at the RT position. Lets get Faine and see what he can do

I'm not sure that we could trade D-Rob even if we wanted to because of his cap charge. But I'll leave that to the cap experts on this board.

And if you think D-Rob is an overpaid, unproductive ass, what do you make of C. Rogers? He's been a disaster who can't stay healthy. I think he's basically everything that Mangini does not want in a player.

This can be a reasonable team. This is not just possible in madden. This can work out at the end of April. I don't know about the D-rob part but this is diffenently possible

this is matt millen were talking about. but at the same time a deal like this won't be done till draft day, to insure that they get the player they want. whether that is williams or anybody else, ferg..whatever. but if williams fell to us, highly unlikely i believe, but if he did and we past on him, or making atleast a huge profit of it, I would be very angry. I was a person before who said that we shouldn't draft him just because we were getting rid of abe, but the more and more I here about him, I like him, and think if he's availble we have to take him if we feel he's the best player availble.

My point is that these types of trades rarely happen because of the risk involved. I would be willing to do this trade if we got Detriots 9th pick and third round pick. Plus next year 1st round pick. That would be worth it in my book but only if Leinart and Mario Williams are off the board. If either of those guys make it to 4 we have to take them.
