    6-Jack Jones, CB, Arizona State

Round out the 90 man roster with UDFA’s, Futures players from the Practice Squad, and another mid-level free agent or two.

This addresses every need in the draft at a reasonable position except CB, which will have to wait until next year with Xavier Rhodes Manning the spot for a year. Curtis Samuel gives another speed option at WR while a draft pick develops.

Nicely done and props for doing all the work on it. Until people have done it you don't really realize how much work you actually have to put it especially with formatting them and what not so it's not a jumblefuck.

    Couple of things
    • I don't like Rondale Moore at all. He reminds me too much of Tavon Austin as he's a speed kills receiver that plays well in open space and what not but he's just too small to be impactful down the field. Not just height/weight either but overall strength
    • Love Ossai. He's a high motor edge rusher. I haven't looked at too many mocks but does he project that high? I thought a bit lower but he's always in the backfield.
    • Rhodes will probably get a bigger deal than that. He's been a stud all year.
    • The offensive line needs to be prioritized in the draft. We cannot go into the year with Van Roten starting. He's probably been the worst player on the line all year and we've seen time out of Edoga and Andrews. Becton next to Thuney is nice but given that McGovern has pretty much sucked, we need to add two guards IMO.
    • Props for knowing that we need to add linebacking talent and speed. I think there are some better options at that spot - Monty Rice of Georgia and Etheridge at Louisville. Both are a bit undersized but taylor made for the modern day NFL. The kid from Louisville was ALL over the field versus Notre Dame.
    • Hubbard is a really good player and under ranked by a lot of places. He's an instant bellcow.

I applaud your effort here. You've obviously put time into this so I'd like your opinion on extending Perriman. The 9mm you hve designated for Samuel could probably get nearly 2 years of Perriman.

I don’t see it with Ossae. Not a huge Moore fan but would take a chance on him in round 2. He’s a luxury weapon to have, think tight end would suit a rookie better and Crowder, Samuel, and Morre play same position basically.

    I’d think
    -Lawrence
    -OL or WR
    -WR or OL or Edge

I could see the 49ers taking Darnold.. I'd be happy for him to be in a stable franchise

Extending a player usually costs more than you would get on the open market for players like Perriman. If you want to extend them, you deem them important, and that usually plays into their hands at the bargaining table. Perfect example is Jordan Jenkins last year. For him to even consider extending he was talking 10-12 mil, when he entered the market he ended up taking way less. I suspect Perriman would be similar and I figure someone will invest. I don’t really want to go multi year for anyone besides Thuney, they have too many draft assets. Also I don’t want to take 1 game against a bad defense as Perriman’s value, I would need to see more before I even want to bring him back.

Great job, @MaximusD163! One thought I have is the QB position. Do we really want the only other QB on the roster to be James Morgan? Trevor Lawrence would be a rookie with no experience. It would be nice to re-sign Joe Flacco to a 1 year deal if he would want it. If not, sign some other veteran. Maybe the new Head Coach would bring a back-up from his old team to help teach the new system. Something like that.

It’s possible a new coach might bring one but this is exactly what Morgan was drafted to do. He was taken in the 4th round. Remember there are another 35 players who will be on the roster through camp so I’m sure a 3rd QB would be there, but this would be the likely 53 I see getting in. I mean probably not Josh Doctson but in general.

    Thanks, couple of responses:
-Not sure about Rhodes, he’s a little older and it’s a weird cap year. I feel like he may need one more prove it year, but I could be wrong. Maybe just wishful thinking on that one.
-I actually see Cam Clark overtaking Van Roten at RG so that’s why I didn’t invest in 2 guards. I don’t want to go crazy in Free Agency, I want to develop draft picks. But it’s clear at least one needs to be upgraded in FA.
-It’s so hard to say exactly where guys will go in the draft this far out. I like Ossai for the Jets because like you said he is high motor but also I think he’s a great fit for the Weakside OLB/Weakside DE hybrid for the Jets D. You can slap Zuniga or Huff at Strongside or JFM in heavy 4 man fronts.
-The Jets need a good ILB like it’s nobodies business and i want to move Mosley in his cheap year to avoid his expensive year. I fell like McGrone is a good fit, but there could be better options available in the send round, who knows.
-My thinking with Hubbard is he would actually be RB1, Brieda would be change of pace RB2, and Perine would be do-it-all RB3.
-Rondale Moore... we need a game breaker speed guy. Mims is more like a 4.45 game speed guy, which is great but I want a guy who is 4.30 or better game speed guy. Maybe Moore is too small, but I tend to think that’s less true nowadays that the rules favor the WR’s. Who else would you want as a game breaker? Also I know Carolina uses Samuel similarly to Crowder but I think he’s bigger and we could insert him at Z while the speedy WR develops.

I think you mean Mosley? If so, he’s cheap in 2021 because of his opt out but then has half of a ludicrous 2022 salary fully guaranteed. I want no part of that 2022 salary so I would try and sucker a team into taking him for a future pick to avoid that 2022 salary. If you don’t make a move now you’re stuck with him.

Nice job...lots of work went into it. Just curious how different this would look if we're picking 3rd or 4th?

I get it, but some players are worth getting stuck with. We really only saw about 1 game of CJ (first Bills game 2019) and holy cow he DOMINATED....almost single handedly destroyed the bills game plan. I was REALLY hoping to see him full time in the middle of our D for a few years. But maybe his 2 years off has ruined him and it's not worth the risk with his big payday.

In 2022 he’ll be 30 before the season... I’m fine to agree to disagree but it’s just a bad financial investment from a team building standpoint in my opinion.

Yes it would. Your entire list is predicated on Jets going 0-16. I honestly see 2-3 wins coming with or w/o Gase after the bye (If team stays healthy for once). If I had to bet my house I'd say we're picking 4th when it's all said and done.

Maybe wait until after we win our first game!

I wonder if CJ would agree to a paycut to stay here, if no other team offers all that much for him.

Samuel plays more like a Z receiver but he's really more of a gadget player for Carolina than a true receiver he's a good talent. I have two friends who are massive Ohio State fans and their whole family went there. They felt as though Samuel might even be best fitted as a RB but they're using him right. Not a perfect route runner or anything.

I think you're right with your thinking. Mims is an X, Crowder at the S and we need a faster guy who can play underneath and create first downs with his legs. Jaylen Waddle is ideal but I have to imagine he'll be gone. I imagine Devonta Smith will be gone as well but he fits the mold. There aren't a ton of guys with the speed you're looking for but someone like Amon-Ra St. Brown would be a good addition. He can run downfield and make plays. Probably more similar to Mims than you'd like but he's a dynamic player.
