Thats nice ... Gil Brandt (aka the godfather of the NF) LOVED the Jets draft and thought they killed it.

Jets draft the consensus #1 QB in the draft, in the second round, and it's a bad pick because we have a half dozen shitty ones on the roster? And despite two first round picks, only the second-round selection is worth talking about? This is some of the worst analysis I've ever seen.

and charlie casserly talked about how he absolutely adored what we did in the draft, yet you don't post that video

also this dude has no idea what he's talking about. dee and sheldon were in the top 4 on our board, so clearly we wanted them

The only commentator worth listening to. These shitty soundbites just get on my nerves (and don't get me started on Mehta's latest article)

I bitched him out on twitter about it. You should give it a read.

    @MMehtaNYDN And finally, learn how to write from @TurnOnTheJets, @ConorTOrr, @TheJetReport, @GangGreenNation.

    All far superior writers.

@MMehtaNYDN I bet you didn’t think that most executives (probably smarter and more successful than you) thought otherwise of our draft.

@MMehtaNYDN Which gives us a chance to add skill position players (which we did).

Do you even know about football beyond tabloid nonsense?

@MMehtaNYDN is writing like an angry little man in his articles. What has Idzik done, kick your dog? Don’t forget about UDFA…

By responding to Mehta you're fueling his troll game. The best way to get back at Mehta for writing his garbage anti-Jets tabloid bullshit is to ignore him. Don't follow him on twitter and don't read the New York Daily News articles.

He writes shit like that because it gets a reaction. You respond, he wins.

That is true. I actually don't follow him (or Rich), and I try my hardest not to read his articles.

Hell, Rich Cimini at least makes a good article every once in a while based on facts. I rarely see the same with Manish.

Marvez isn't bad but Schrager gave the Seahawks an F last year. Lets not act like their word is the bible.

Why would any fan of any team care what a hack writer has to say? They were saying the same thing when we were a game away from the superbowl..starting to see a pattern yet?

Thanks. I'll never get that 5:22 back. No-talent dooshers serving canned anti-Jets crap are a dime a dozen. This does not need a thread for itself.

When did these clowns ever have a gig in the NFL? They're grading a draft. However, none of the player(s) that where drafted on Thursday, or over the weekend have never taken a snap in the NFL for the 32 teams. Unbelievable, the only way we could stop the circus comments is by winning!

Exactly! Not only do these writers have no actual football experience of any kind, but its absolutely ridiculous to grade a draft class 24 hours after the draft has ended. You need to wait at least a year (3 preferably) before you can accurately grade draft picks.

Stopped watching when he said "The last thing the Jets need is another Quarterback controversy."

The first thing the Jets need is a decent QB. Does this guy even logic?

Putting aside the Smith pick, I think it was a fair question what do the Jets do in next year's draft if they don't make the playoffs this year (which remains highly likely). Add in the thinking that Smith might not/probably won't be ready this year, and what next, with a quality Qb ready draft next year?

Do the Jets let the opportunity slide to pick up one of those qb's, or go after one? And if the latter, where does that leave Smith?

    I think that's a fair question.

If we don't make the play-offs and Quarterback play is a big reason for that, We definitely HAVE to go after a QB early in the draft.

As for Smith, We keep him because it's nice to have a young quality backup that we might be able to trade to a QB needy team sometime in the future.

Who knows, maybe somebody on our roster will turn out to be a pleasant surprise and allow us to sit him for a year or so and allow him to develop at his pace instead of just throwing him into the fire. Right now, it's just too early to tell.
