Personally I like Cook as a more versatile back. Not saying we should draft either just want to get an idea of what others think.
I have always thought Fournette is overrated. Maybe he is saving himself, idk. He never shows up when it matters and he is a shit head imo. I think he will be good. But I think Cook can be better. Dalvin is the man and not a pre-Madonna. He is extremely explosive and so much fun to watch. Most people would bash drafting Cook over Fournette. It is very likely Fournette goes first. I would rather have Cook.
Yeah I would take Cook over fournette. Cook is super explossevie I like what he does catching out of the back field his blocking looks good And is very elusive. He can also break tackles and is alot more powerful then people give him credit for. Everytime I hear something about fournette he's either playing through an injury or is sitting out because of an injury. obviously this dosent mean for sure he will have an injury riddled career but I think there's more of a chance with him especially the way he runs the ball At this point I really don't care about physical freaks. I'll take a good football player over a physical freak any day
I admit I was on the Fournette bandwagon up until recently, but after hearing more about Cook, and his versatility, I think he'll be a better fit on the Jets. I would take him ahead of Howard, just barely, but if they can't get Watson at #6, either Cook (1A) or Howard (1B) would be my pick.
To see a 5 to 1 Cook over Fournette is a bit shocking considering scouts call Fournette the next Peterson but on film Cook is the next David Johnson which in an offensive NFL may be a better fit.
Eh Johnson is a much better receiver than Cook will ever be. In this case, I take the better pure runner. Fournette forced the most missed tackles in the NCAA in 2015. He needs to improve as a receiver, yes, but this guy has Peterson potential and I think most would say Peterson has been the Vikings lifeline for the last 10 years. Give me Fournette if I have to take a running back.
I have to go with Leonard here, because if you draft a RB in the top 10 he has to be special , cook will be a good Running back in the league but the potential of leonard is way too big he can become the best to ever do it ofc injurys can make him a bust but you draft for potential and if you want a safe pick on top 10 you dont go RB either way. On the side note Joe mixon with the crap aside is a better player then dalvin cook boom i said it. But ofc he cant even do the combine they trying to make an example of this kid but whoever will draft him will get an elite player i just hope its not the patriots so you all gonna be complaining for years.
I think some people forget how awesome Fournette is....please watch some of these highlights. I love Cook too but couldn't pass up Fournette and feel good about it
I like both backs a lot but neither at 6. It's a pretty deep draft for backs. I'd rather grab mixon in the 3rd or 4th
Thanks for posting this. This is the Fournette I remember from 2015 that we didn't see too much of in 2016. He is definitely a great RB. He has amazing speed for his size, power, elusivness, can sky to go over defenders, can run through them, or around them. He looks to have great vision. My only concerns are his ankles and his stats vs. Alabama. In reading about the high ankle sprains, they can lead to osteoarthritis and ankle instability. I know he had at least one this past season, and think I remember reading that he tried to come back too soon, and that was one of the dangers listed in the article I read at sportsmedicine.com. If his ankles check out fine, then I'd still like to get some understanding as to why his stats vs a great D in Alabama were not good. Was he banged up in those games? The reason that is a concern for me is that he'll be facing defenses more like Alabama's every week in the NFL. Also, does he lack the ability to elevate his game in big games? One of the few knocks on CuMar was that he always came up small in big games.
If I'm a team like the Patriots I scoop this kid up in a heartbeat . They won't take the kind of crap other teams would giving this kid a shot . They can afford to make picks like this and roll the dice on a boom or bust (off field) talent . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I see a lot of "business decisions" being made in that video. Fournette reminds me of a faster Rodney Hampton.
His demeanor and attitude. He acts like he is already the best RB of all time. The character comparison between him and Zeke is night and day. Fournette is a me, me, me Revis type and he hasn't even played in the NFL yet.
Is this because he sat out his bowl game, or are there other examples? Because this is the first knock ive heard on his character
