@RichCimini: Geno Smith's passer rating over the last 3 games (since he returned to lineup): 78.2. Mark Sanchez's rating over last three: 80.3 #nyj His name is just Geno Smith now. Except Mark plays in a system that is quarterback friendly in this surrounded by tons of talent. Hopefully this stops the incessant whining from a selective few and kills off all of the self-loathing.
Probably because he's a below average quarterback playing in the system that makes any quarterback look average.
This is definetly not breaking news bro...Take a look http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/geno-is-sanchez-sanchez-is-geno.82348/
I didn't say it was breaking news. But there still a contingency that thinks for some reason Mark Sanchez is anything other than what he was with us: a below average quarterback. Those same people dump all over Geno yet Geno and Mark over the past three weeks as starters have been nearly identical.
this illustrates why we don't look at numbers alone. we have access to so much info, more than ever, and yet we still focus on stats out of context. anyone who thinks Geno is even half as good as Mark does not understand a thing about this game.
It's easy to see, I don't really care what the numbers say. I very much dislike Sanchez but would take him over Geno any day if I wanted to win a football game.
Junc, this one time I will agree with you about Mark... He is a lot better than Geno. Sadly, I think Mark took too many hits to ever be a more than just a good QB. Your were right, we ruined him.
Can you explain to me why he has been unbelievably average in a system that is QB-friendly with Maclin, McCoy, Sproles, Celek and Matthews?
he hasn't been average, he's been good and has performed better than Foles was performing before he got hurt. what did McCoy and the run game do the other night? it was the pass game that brought them back from 21-0 down and gave them a lead. what was Matthews doing pre Sanchez?
Stopped right there. Looks like this is classic junc when it comes to discussing Sanchez... just completely unable to see things for what they are. Have a good one!
I'd be interested in seeing Geno play in a system as beneficial as Chip Kelly's. Sanchez is putting up better numbers than he ever did here. I think Geno has superior arm talent to Sanchez, and neither have a particularly high football IQ, but Mark probably has him beat there. Either way, they're both below average QB's.
Foles in 300+ attempts - 6-2, 13 TDs, 10 INTs, 1 Fumbles Lost, 81 Passer Rating, 68 Total QBR, 3 Game Winning Drives, 2 Comebacks Sanchez in less than 225 attempts - 3-3, 10 TDs, 9 Ints, 3 Fumbles Lost, 84 Passer Rating, 48 Total QBR, 0 Game Winning Drives, 0 Comebacks Please stop nwo @nyjunc
oh god. this thread sucks. I was as anti-sanchez as anyone here and was happy to move on but you are dumb if you don't acknowledge he's better than Geno Smith ever was. That's not saying much.. like saying the 29th best starting QB is better than the 32nd.. but still true. Sanchez made just as many dumb mistakes as Geno Smith but he moved the ball better. that Cimini tweet is bullshit. Sanchez's last 3 games were against top competition -Cowboys & Eagles. Genos was against guys that will be bagging groceries next year in Minny, Ten and Miami
I feel sorry for anyone that wants Mark Sanchez back on the Jets or wishes we had never gotten rid of him. How quickly you guys forget how many games he blew that we should've won. Go watch the bloopers.
