Detroit - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame They are still hesitant to draft a QB after the Harrington fiasco, and may publically like Kitna, but in the end, they still nab the QB. Cleveland - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan Joe Thomas draws a lot of consideration, but there may be better value at OT than DT in the 2nd. Tampa Bay - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech Landing the best player in the draft at #4 isn?t bad. Arizona - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin The Cards couldn?t hope for a better scenario. Washington - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson May draw a lot of pressure from Jamaal Anderson as the draft nears. Minnesota - Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas This is a bit of a projection pick based on how he may workout, but his upside is amazing. Houston - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma If not for durability concerns, he?s the top player in the draft. Miami - Darrelle Revis, CB, Pitt Cam Cameron is an offensive mind, but they need secondary help badly. Atlanta - LaRon Landry, S, LSU An instant upgrade to the Falcons secondary. San Francisco - Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville A little light in the pants, but still extremely young. He can play now, and will only get better. Buffalo - Levi Brown, OT, Penn St. The talent is there on offense at the skill positions, but not on the line. St. Louis - Patrick Willis, LB, Ole Miss Will be a standout from Day One, and the best bet for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Carolina - Reggie Nelson, S, Florida The Panthers need a playmaking force at safety, and Nelson is a true ballhawk. Pittsburgh - Justin Blalock, OL, Texas Has the ability to help out at guard or tackle. Green Bay - Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC He may not be a burner, but he will be a playmaker and a welcomed addition to the Packer offense. Jacksonville - Michael Griffin, S, Texas His all around talent at safety would make him an immediate impact player. Cincinnati - DeMarcus Tyler, DT, North Carolina St. Controlling the line of scrimmage is an area they need to address. Tennessee - Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio St. His playmaking ability would form a great pair with Vince Young. NY Giants - Marshawn Lynch, RB, Cal They may give Brandon Jacobs a shot as the lead back, but you cannot pass on Lynch this late. He will likely go higher in April when teams move around. Denver - Quentin Moses, DE, Georgia Slid after a so so senior campaign, but is still a force off the edge. Dallas - Arron Sears, OL, Tennessee Could start immediately at guard or tackle. Kansas City - Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee They finally have a goto receiver. New England (from Sea) - Paul Pozluszny, LB, Penn St. The Pats lack of depth at linebacker was exposed against the Colts. NY Jets - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan His lack of big time speed could cause him to slide on draft day. Philadelphia - Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida St. His speed and aggressiveness will fit nicely in Philly. New Orleans - Aaron Ross, CB, Texas Fred Thomas was picked on all day against the Bears. A corner upgrade must be found. New England - Eric Weddle, S, Utah A Belichick type defender. This pick could be used as ammo to move up, or move down and pick up another Day 1 pick with the Patriots history of draft day trades. Baltimore - LaMarr Woodley, LB/DE, Michigan Could replace Adalius Thomas if he moves on in FA. San Diego - Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina Gives the Chargers a vertical threat, and one of the biggest receiving tandems in the league. Indianapolis - Earl Everett, LB, Florida His speed is the ideal fit in Indy. Chicago - Zach Miller, TE, Arizona St. Size and receiving ability would be a great outlet option for Grossman. << Its funny Moss fell out of the first rd.
How DID they leave Moss out of the 1st round? I'm starting to believe his tools could make him (at worst) the second OLB prospect off the board after Adams.
I'd be happy with Hall, unless we had already signed a CB in free agnecy... Some how I doubt Carriker falls out of the 1st. In fact, I guarantee, barring a combine catastrophe or scandal, that Carricker will not fall past our 1st pick.
No Moss, no Carriker in the first round....interesting. I don't think the Jets will be able to get either at 25 because they'll both be long gone.
I don't mind if we take leon because i think he could be solid and we wouldn't have to pay assante all that money but this scenario is rediculous. If Carriker slides to us we have to take him. He'd pair with Shaun Ellis and maybe we could start stopping the run.
I don't see Detroit taking Quinn for the very reason mentioned. My money is on him slipping to Cleveland at 3. Marinelli is a defensive line guy and I think Gaines Adams might be a dark horse for the Lions. And I'd like Hall alot more with 37 then 25, especially with Carriker still on the board.
It's Moses, not Moss. Quentin Moses, DE/OLB from Georgia I'm assuming you're talking about, because there is also Tyrone Moss, RB from the U.
The odds of Hall falling to 25 are pretty slim, much less 37. He doesn't have the elite measurables that a Revis or McCauley has, but he's been battle tested against some of the best college players in the nation in the Big 10, and he has far superior game sense than any of his competitors. I expect him to be the first CB taken, followed by Marcus McCauley (who is inexplicably not in the first round here.) Football's Future's prediction of only 2 corners taken in the top 25 is pretty unrealistic.
Vilma--this mock has Moses gone already. The Moss we're talking about is Jarvis, the DE from Florida who could project to OLB in the pros, 6'6", 251 or so lbs, an excellent pass rusher who also blocked some kicks this year.
BINGO! Carriker had a good senior bowl session, and he is PERFECT as a 3-4 DE. No way he slides past the Jets, but I expect him to be long gone by the time we pick. CB? Yeah, if we don't get either Samuel or Clements signed before the draft. There are a number of DT's that could play DE in a 3-4 coming out. I have serious man love for this kid Ramirez, a guard out of TX Tech. He's a road grader, almost 330, and can pass block, as proven by that pass happy offense he played for in college. What he proved in the senior bowl is that even at that size, he can be a pulling guard, and make no mistke... he CAN run block. He's gonna go in the second round.... I hope he falls to us with the 2b pick.
He's not exactly a great fit in a 3-4 either... he's small enough, don't put him in a big-LB friendly system. As for the Jets, I'd take Carriker in a heart beat if that's how the draft board fell. He's an absolute 3-4 DE stud, so he fills a need with top 15-20 value.
Corners have a weird way of moving up and down the draft board drastically. I'm not saying it's very likely but even guys we've drafted in Strait and Miller have been projected to go higher than they do and others have gone much earlier than they projected.
Why are you correcting me when I am obviously referring to DE/OLB Jarvis Moss from Florida.....Quentin Moses was picked already when I said "under this scenerio" in the mock draft posted here anyway.....do you really think I am that stupid?
Just what we need another CB without an afterburner. I can't see how we would pick him over Woodley. Tangini have already stipulated that they hope to go into the draft NOT needing to fill any holes , so they are looking at depth. With Tannenbaums penchant with the cap , I'm confident that we won't be drafting a CB in the first round.
