Dude could bang... Found dead in hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia ... according to early news reports. Leaves behind a wife and three kids... shame.
I was enjoying their covers of Andy Gibb songs, it was really fun to listen to. Hopefully it wasn't drug-related. I somehow recall that he was struggling with heroin in the early 2000s.
Awful, just absolutely awful news. When my son picked up his first drum sticks at age 6 he looked up to Taylor and Grohl, he's 17 and plays every single day bc of those 2...
Up to ten substances found in his system . Only named thc, and opioids. man, Dave grohl had really been through it with band members.
Talked to a friend today who knows the band... Taylor was back in "it" the last two months. I had too many friends go through long periods of sobriety only to fall hard. It's a progressive disease... it's always got your number.
Even if Taylor Hawkins was overly self-medicating or even flat out abusing this is where I just might have to seriously blame the medical community depending on what comes out. Just so everyone knows, if something was prescribed legally and done so electronically everything goes into a national database under Meaningful Use. You hit a button and it's all right there. In other words, there's almost no way that Dr. A doctor didn't know what Dr. Z was writing him. My guess is the anti-depressants, which kill more people than they save, were prescribed legally. The benzos, maybe. The opiods, most likely a no because of the other two. Also, drinking with benzos and opiods increases the effects of the other two exponentially and benzos and opiods even without alcohol often causes accidental death (see Heath Ledger/multiple drug intoxication). Also, people should NEVER combine alcohol with anti-depressants EVER. It can induce and cause rage, psychosis, violence, and suicide (see Brynn Hartman). Anti-depressants can also do that all on their own. It's not like in the old days where you could take paper prescriptions and doctor shop over and over again. Good doctors who really want to heal people are very very strict about certain medications and not only because their career and their ass is on the line. If some POS legal pill-pusher - and, oh, yeah, they're still fckn out there - was in effect providing him with a potentially deadly combination no matter what he did to himself I hope his family sues them into the grave. The Sacklers should be shot at Dawn while I'm at it, but we all know WTF is happening there. A big bag of nothing. They're scumbags and the Drs. who were getting kickbacks, incentives, and free family vacations should also only go to Hell.
Drinking and drugging is a choice but at some point if someone in the medical profession gives someone who is vulnerable or broken to what equates to a loaded weapon they're not blameless. Plus, I don't think @stinkyB meant it in the wrong way. It's a very complicated subject with a ton of facets to a shitty diamond.
