When does the league officially announce the night game for the final week of the season? Has it already been determined or can they still change it? Explaination appricated.

They are waiting till the 26th so they can get a playoff deciding match-up and not something that could be a bust.

They can't wait for the 26th. I thought NBC must pick the game 12 days in advance under the rules.

I think the last few weeks they need 6 days.

I'm sure the New Years Eve game will be on the west coast anyway. I can't see them having a game end at 11-11:30 PM on New Year's Eve.

So if Raiders/Jets is for a playoff spot, would it be a 4:00 pm start or an 8 pm NBC start?

I'm guessing we won't get it anyway. If the falcons and Eagles are both still in it they will be the final game.

They aren't going to pick Raiders/Jets. They want a game where both teams need it.

 Raiders/Jets won't be SNF. I guarantee it. They'll pick a marquee game.

Eagles/Falcons or Jags/Cheifs seem like the perfect game to put on Sunday night.

I'd bet Eagles/Falcons UNLESS The Jets, JAX and DEN lose this week and KC wins. If that happens KC/JAX can be a win/in for both teams.

(of course, if that happens, CIN is 9-6, NYJ, JAX, DEN, KC 8-7 and BUF 8-7 if they win. If that's the case, NYJ would need KC to beat JAX, and BAL to beat BUF (along with a win) to get in)

Oh yeah! It's gonna be that game. No way in hell they put any Raiders game on Prime Time.

If its an east coast team, who the hell will be watching it sober? Should they even have a night game on New Years eve? It is probably the only day I dont think about football. This would be a interesting bet.
I bet Falcons-eagles would have the same ratings as Arizona-Det(I know they dont play but if they did) I just dont see the point of a night game on New Years Eve

the rating of this game has to be 4.0 or less no matter who plays.

I'd be watching if they managed to finagle the Eagles-Falcons game.

Ratings have been good for New Year's Eve night games.

Last year the Giants played a game at 8:05pm. Of course, it was played in Oakland at 5:05. I believe it did around the normal number for Giants games.

    New Years Eve games?

Ewww. No way. I can't believe anyone would tune in for it. Other then backround noise.

I'd be pissed off if we ever got screwed with that.

Giants were going for a division win, and Oakland fans are retards, they watch every game even if they are 0-16... I guess you have a point. but I wont be watching.... if we are playing that night

I dont remember any other night games ratings but I know the college shit was awful and I would guess NFL would be too

fatsesca(WFAN) thought the Giants game was going to be awful(ratings wise) until they needed to clinch it, I never agree with him but I think New Years Eve games stink
