Effective immediately, bench Brown and the LG , they are a disgrace. Move the pieces around. Becton, even though iffy, is better than Brown. Bring in the rookie to Center and move McGovern to the left. Thoughts ?
This line is a disgrace. No QB will want to come here.

Who are they getting for replacements? Is it more realistic to think that there's 2-3 lineman available that will fix this problem as opposed to one quarterback who can be better than the worst QB in the league for over a year?

This is not mutually exclusive. We need to do both. But benching Brown will keep our QB on his feet.

I agree that they need to explore replacing Brown. It can't get worse really.

Your housekeeper is a trash pass blocker too.

The Jets need major changes along the offensive line but also in the offensive gameplan. How could they line up against this defense without a back in the backfield at all times?!?

Yes! Needs to be done ASAP. Bench Brown and put Vera-Tucker and Becton at tackles. Move McGovern or Tippman to interior.

Yes. Don't we have a FB taking up a spot on the roster? And what about all of the TEs? Were any put on the left side to help Brown not entirely fail at his job?

The empty backfield shit is also maddening. The OL can't block for shit, they're facing off against Micah Parsons, and their QB needs a little more time to process. Why put this kid in a position to fail time and time again?

Similar shit happened last year with MLF. At a point you have to start wondering what Saleh is doing.

That, IMO was simply idiotic play calling against the top pass rush with a crappy OL

Agree about the empty backfield... maybe it wasn't MLF who was responsible for that being used so much last year.

Bad OL play. But possibly even worse offensive gameplanning. As if the coaches didn't know who they were playing against

Duane Brown really really looks bad. He is so slow it is painful to watch. I agree the jets have limited options but adding schmitz and tippman as guards and moving Becton to LT would be a start. I thought Becton held up pretty well

Actually Becton played like shit too.
Just not as noticeable because Brown overshadowed him.

Becton did not play well. He had at least one penalty and was beaten quite a few times today.

Jets are in big trouble on the edges offensively.

I mentioned in the game thread that my wife looked up for a moment and blurted out “76 looks tired”. Brown is way out of game shape and he’s old. His play is unacceptable, if you don’t have a player on the bench that can give better than what Brown is doing then it’s unforgivable. Becton has been darn near as awful as well. With the exception of Vera Tucker pretty much every move JD has made on OL has been tragically bad.

Although Becton had 3 penalties, I think, he didn't play that bad.
My problem with Becton is the CS.
You have this rather large athletic man... I know it's a dumb idea, but maybe running behind the guy would be helpful? If not early in the game, as the game wears on, maybe, possibly the opposing players might get a bit tired?
    Naaah... A bonehead idea.

The left side is a sieve so why aren't we running behind the road graders on the right side? Not playing ground and pound behind AVT, Becton, and Ruckert made no sense. Hall got 4 freaking carries, FOUR. Run your playmaker behind your strength.

I echo the sentiments about running to the right. It really boggles the mind. Are they outsmarting themselves? Like, the opponents will expect a run to that side so let’s surprise them?

That’s idiotic but if so, why not run counters? What’s with all of the sweeps to the old and slow side of the line? Why is Cook running those sweeps instead of Hall?
