Fitz is gonna be Fitz. Theres a reason he's on his 4th team in 4 seasons. He's a good backup QB if you need him for 3-5 games max to keep your team above water. Ask him to start a full 16 and his shortcomings will surface sooner rather than later. There are throws all starting NFL QBs have to make and Fitz just cant do it. Fitz will have a couple good/great games early to give you hope , then he'll nose dive and turn the ball over at crucial times. Start Fitz for a full 16 and the best case scenerio is 8-8 with everything going right but most likely 6-10/7-9.
Hopefully for us it's the total opposite. One big difference between us and the old Jets regime is we seem to have a GM that has an eye for talent with Whaley previously being a head scout and all. Rex's previous GMs seem to have been cap men instead of talent evaluators. Whaley has an old school kind of approach where he still likes to go to the college games and scout players himself. Rex will have no excuse if this team doesn't perform , Whaley has stocked this team with some good to elite talent and its up to Rex/Roman/Thurman to utilize it......so far so good.

Fitz played well-enough for the Jets to win that game. Shit play-calling and dropped passes were the issue.

Threw a clutch TD to even give the team a chance. The late INT was inconsequential, we weren't scoring in 24 seconds. If you want to dump on a former Bill, Gailey is your guy this week.
It's just amazing to me how people aren't screaming for Fitz to be benched. He's only going to win you enough games to keep you out of the top 10 in draft picks. You don't want him back next year but the coaches don't want to see if Geno can prove himself? Fitz does this to every team he plays for. He's gonna hold you back atleast 3 years whenever he's on your roster. It'll take atleast 2 years after he leaves for you to recover if you're lucky. I'm happy.

"sooner" didnt happen and its starting to get pretty late for "later" as well what wasnt factored in are 2 things: 1) fitz has to do less for the jets to succeed then he has for any team in the past 2) he has the best weapons he has ever had around him its not a suprise he is having his best success here as opposed to other stops he has made. no one things he is great, but he is in the best situation he has probably ever been in
we dont have Aaron Rodgers or Steve Young on the bench. we have Geno Smith on the bench. Geno is the worst QB in football, you dont call for a somewhat effective fitz to be bench for geno to come in suck and go winless
