I like FITM's better by a close margin. The Blue that was used as the background of dwalsh's gives me a headache and gives LT a feminine touch. I like the writing on both, as well as the pictures chosen. 2 pretty good sigs, but the background color gives FITM the edge in the end.
I'm not a photoshopper, but I have been told to be a judge of this little competition. So, the graphic I choose is FITM's. Here is why: Dwalsh's graphic has a cool looking font, but I just don't really like the transition of the colors from the helmet and uniform to the background's sky blue. I am also not a big fan of the white outline around LT. FITM's graphic is the favorite because I like the sharpness of McGahee and the background is pretty nice. The downside of this one is that I don't like the font style as much as dwalsh's. Good work by both participants.
I vote FITM which by majority declares him as the winner. Dwalsh's background is way to bright, and the LT in the right background looks choppy.
good job FITM... good stuff. Not to make excuses, but i did put mine together in about 10 minutes (if that) I'm still learning, hopefully someday i'll do something like FITMs
Sorry I'm late guys...although it seems to be decided! I'll go ahead with my judgement. These are both outstanding sigs. I can see you both working in a design agency some day! But the edge goes to FITM. Here's why: It all has to do with contrast, texture, and creating a clear focal point. He chose a good, dark color to use in the background to call attention to the subject matter, good ol' Wachu Talkin 'Bout" Willis. The background image has enough detail to give it depth, but it's subtle enough to highlight the focal point. Even the use of a swash as a logotype cleverly leads your eye there. Most excellent Garth! WE'RE NOT WORTHY! DWalsh...don't fret. Your artwork gets an A in my book. The only "problem" I see (and it seems to a popular view) is the background color. I know why you chose it, you wanted to mimic the light blue jersey worn by the LT in the center. It just makes the background too light and make it hard to focus. The background you chose has a great dynamic, there even appears to be a spotlight shining on him! And I love the graffiti font. It accentuates the personality of the piece. I think if you just made the background in the darker Chargers blue, you would be set. Again great job both of you! You both get a gold star
my bad, i guess i misread your post... either way, i was just playing around SOOO.... From all the feedback i've gotten, is this one better, just changing the background? I would also change the double stroke on the center LT from blue=>white to white=>blue
Definitely better! One more thing, it might be nice to have an outer glow on LT in the center, but that's probably just fluff. Very nice!
I'm just going to focus on FITM's here, I like dwalsh's and it is better than I can do, but it is kind of a bland sig in my opinion in that it doesn't really stick out. I like: the 1 crisp, clear McGahee picture the text (i seem to be the minority) the contrast and basic color scheme I don't like: how the 2 shows so much in the background but that's it. If you were going to show the # I would put both in or make it less visible. your choice of player  but it was very good overall.
