How bad was Bradway? Lets take a look at the Jets Top 10 picks with Bradway running the draft. 2003-Dwayne Robertson 2006-DBrickashaw Ferguson 2008-Vernon Gholston 2009-Mark Sanchez 2013-Dee Milliner 2015-Leonard Williams It's a sad state of affairs when 4/6 top 10 picks are complete busts. It's also hard to pin them on Bradway when we don't know how much influence he had over the draft when he was demoted from GM. Also IIRC he was demanding that the Jets not draft Stephen Hill and was instead pushing for some other player that turned out to be really good. I doubt that he was the decision maker on our 1st round picks.
I thought it was Rex who didn't like Stephen Hill. If Bradway didn't pick him who did? Tannebaum was a bean counter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tannenbaum was the GM, so he got responsibility for the picks while he was GM, with advice from folks like Bradway. It's true that he's a lawyer with no scouting background, so obviously he relied on advice from professional scouts, and Bradway was one of them. But they fired Bradway as GM for a reason - they would not simply let him continue as the GM under a new lesser title with Tannenbaum as a figurehead GM. That's a huge stretch to believe. Tannenbaum was in charge; I think Woody liked the idea of having a business type guy running the show, but you wouldn't delegate all the picks to the guy you just fired for not making good enough picks. All of the speculation about Bradway being horrible is speculation, because we don't know which players he was pushing for. For all we know, he was telling the Jets not to pick Ghoulston, Milliner, Robertson, etc but was ignored. It's all speculation. Only the people in the draft room would know.
Bradway traded up for Robertson whe he was GM. Got to pin that one on him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ive heard so many Bradway stories over the years and I'm sure a lot are a crock. Like, Bradway wanted the Jets to draft Russell Wilson but nooooo! I think he was good at releasing info to the press to cover his ass. Brian Cashman does the same damn thing. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Bradway supposedly wanted the Jets to draft Russell Wilson. If true, he could have been a hero in Jets history just with that move alone.
younger guys dont realize but this fucking guy was like the teflon employee. no matter what happened he just always ended up employed, by the jets, who never drafted well while he was there. so that said i am glad he is gone.
Mac cleaned house. Who cares what the politics were with Bradways picks blah blah blah Results: Ninety per cent bad
I don't understand why teams don't hire 2 GM's and let one be the football guy in charge of running the scouting department and working on player development while the other is purely a business guy and handles the cap and contract issues. I would think at least a few teams would structure their front office that way.
Bradway made the Robertson one,and I think he made the D Brick one.Who knows how much influence he had after he was fired as gm.You forgot Sheldon in this fake story
What is even better is that badway is down in Miami now sharing his wisdom with that trainwreck front office!
I would think they would but I'm not that knowledgable on the structure of front offices other then ours. I would think a football guy should have last say on players rather then a bean counter . Bradway was at least a football guy but unfortunately he wasn't too good of one given his track record . I would also think the HC would have a lot of input into what players he wants/needs to play his style of football . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
