Good move by Miami... he needs to stay in shape some way. I don't think he would in Africa, so Canada is a good choice. Smokes cost more up there.
It's OK to keep him in shape, but imagine the reaction when he tears his ACL or something. I think it would have been better for Miami to keep him in town and make sure he keeps working out, even though he can't play.
Even working out doesn't make up for PT. You need to play. Have him keep up to speed both physically and mentally. You don't want to throw him in after a year and have him forgotten how fast the game is. keeping your mind sharp, reading blocks, and working underpreasure are things that can't be replicated.
