I haven't played the new one much because I was in baseball mode, but I played my third full game of Madden and first on All Madden with accelerated clock and 10 minute quarters. It was with a fantasy drafted franchise, Jets v. Titans in week 1. My offense was Roethlisberger, Bush at RB but out for game and replaced with Brandon Jacobs, Heath Miller, Larry Fitzgerald, Jerricho Cotchery but he was out, so #2 was Dez White followed by Brad Smith. First drive of the game, I nearly go 3 and out but a 3rd and 12 draw play with Jacobs gets me nearly 25 yards. I finish the drive off with a bomb to Dez White for a 40 yard TD. They answer back and going into the halftime I'm down 21-20 because my team chokes in the red zone. 3rd quarter was all defense but I started the 4th off with a kick return to midfield with Devin Hester and hit 2 long passes to Heath Miller, then a fade to Fitzgerald for a TD. I go for 2 and Roethlisberger sneaks it in, giving me a 28-21 lead. They answer back with a quick drive thanks to Mike Anderson shredding my defense and tie it up, leaving me with the ball at my own 20 and 6 minutes left. First play was a run up the middle for 1 yard. Second play I'm sacked for a loss of 8. Third play I'm sacked and Roethlisberger fumbles and my center recovers at the 1 yard line. I line up to punt and it gets BLOCKED, but we recover for a safety, giving them a 30-28 lead. I do the safety punt and manage to prevent them from eating time and getting in field goal range. They punt for a touchback, giving me the ball at the 20 with 3 minutes left. I drive down field and get to the 20, but can't get further and can't eat more time. I kick a field goal and take a 31-30 lead with 41 seconds left. Now I'm doing the kick off. I do it right and everything, and after I do the meters, it says, "Good." But the kickoff goes out of bounds and they get the ball at their own 40. They drive down to their 35 and have 3 seconds left. Mike Nugent lines up for a 53 yard field goal. It hits the crossbar, I win 31-30.
The fade never works for me unless i have randy moss. Can someone tell me how to throw a better fade? Is it the pass that matters or do you just control the receiver and jump for it?
Someone hit, I shit you not, a 66 yarder (that's from my 49 yardline) with Josh Brown of the Seahawks against me online a couple nights ago. Almost no wind, maybe 1-2mph with him. I wanted to punch a baby.
