Ok, teams have until 4pm Tuesday to get their roster down to 75 players. So who do you think gets cut?
I and all the other Packers fans you inherited with Favre are hoping Carroll gets cut. We've seen enough of Grabby Smurf.
I'd rather keep Carroll and drop Barrett like a bad habit. I mean, maybe we might've found something in him as he played some Safety against the Giants, but he hasn't done anything to warrant a roster spot this entire pre-season.
I know Brandon Renkhart won't make the final 53 but I went to school with him and I hope he makes the first cut.
Official roster only has 79 listed so I'm adding the following names into the mix, recognizing that I'm a few names over but feeling as though they will eventually be cut- 1) Larry Brackins- 2nd year WR from Pearl River CC 2) Rudy Burgess- Rookie RB from Arizona State 3) Jehuu Caulcrick- Rookie RB from Michigan State who seemed to stink up the place whenever he was in on a play. 4) Ron Girault- Rookie DB from Rutgers 5) Rodney Kinlaw- Rookie RB from Penn State 6) Bryan Mattison- Rookie DE from Iowa 7) Brandon Renkart- Rookie LB from Rutgers 8) A.J. Schable- 3rd year TE from South Dakota I've left O-line off the list because I'm not sure if they've really decided who must stay and who must go when it comes to that group.
Good for Packer fans. This is about redemption on so many levels. Carroll will make the team and the Packers cast off squad of Favre, Carroll, and Franks will help the Jets make the playoffs.
Or payback from them eventually getting Favre early in his career, and us having just missed him at the draft many, many years ago.
Is it legal to wear boxing gloves in an NFL game? That would make me feel a lot better about Carroll's likelihood of getting penalties against starting NFL receivers. Green Bay just made him practice with boxing gloves, but that wasn't enough. (He didn't wear them when getting in fistfights, though.) I'd love to be proved wrong but I watched every game of his NFL career and he is so bad in real game situations that it borders on the surreal.
You don't. I think that you put him on IR where he doesn't count. Does PUP have inplications against the roster head-count?
Placing someone on IR means he can't play the whole season. and From my understanding if he gets on the PUP he can't play for 6 weeks. Someone with better knowledge please clarify.
I agree with you here Koz. the 4 I highlighted are the guys i expect to be sent packing tomorrow. for the final cutdown i expect Renkart, Mattison, and Girault to also be tossed aside. Caulcrick however is uncertain. I believe he and Musa Smith are duking it out to be the goal-line back and or back up/ future at the FB position once richardson leaves. Honestly, I think Caulcrick makes the squad over Smith simply for the versatility that he could be a big bruiser on the goal line, yet still be a strong lead blocker if he learns and absorbs from T-Rich.
No and that's the problem...With the depth in our WR department and the fact that two of our backup guys are the top ST players, any new WR's really need to do something special just to be noticed and retained beyond the final cut. See Clowney pre injury....
