1. Marqise Lee WR USC I was really skeptical about Lee at the beginning. Marqise is someone that is dangerous with the ball his hands, period. That's something we need in a WR. He put up pretty good numbers in a struggling offense and he's never had the consistency at QB that he should have had. With Watkins, Lee and Ebron off the board I feel like Lee is the safest pick and I don't see him disappointing. We need a playmaker and with Lee we have one. Alternate: Odell Beckham Jr WR LSU 2. Jaylen Watkins CB UF Watkins is borderline top 5 in his position. I have as many as 4 CBs coming off the board in the first round. We need CB help bad. Milliner is the best we have and that's alarming as he is still very green. Watkins is a physical player that will compete. Solid tackler with good instinct in coverage. Some might consider Watkins a reach here but with CBs flying off the board we may not be at liberty to pass in the 2nd. Alternate: ASJ TE Washington 3. Craig Loston S LSU With Ed Reed still yet unsigned and with an aging Landry we could use some safety help. Loston is a defensive leader that will provide depth and talent to our secondary. Hard working player that could be slated to replace Landry as early as mid season. Alternate: Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB Nebraska 4. Trevor Reilly OLB Utah Coples seems to be holding down one side but the other could use an upgrade. Pace is good in a supporting role but should not be starting. Barnes will hopefully be 100% as he looked GREAT last year. But Barnes remains a question mark for the time being. Nevertheless we could still use a player like Reilly. High motor with an ability to get after the QB. Alternate: Tre Boston S UNC 4. Trai Turner OG LSU Winters played alright for a rookie but he should by no means be handed the LG spot. Colon is stop gap but this looks to be his last year. Both our guards could be upgraded. Hopefully Campbell can provide some competition because he's about as much as Winters and Colon have. The more OL depth the better because as it looks now we are thin on the interior. Turner is quick for his size and has the potential of a starting guard if given the chance. 4. A.C. Leonard TE Tennessee St. With the talent we added through the FA and with the drafting of a WR in the first round I don't see us taking a TE early. Cumberland is serviceable and we have some unproven talent that could emerge with Sudfeld and Pantale. With the addition of a WR in the first round and the FA our receiving core is miles ahead of our squad last year. Leonard is a player with good ball skills and instinct. Had he stayed at UF he could have been a 1st or 2nd round pick. He will add competition for the starting TE position. Win or lose he still provides a decent target with solid receiving skills.
On the surface it looks like a good job, although I think you've overdrafted some of your alternates. Depending upon whom was bypassed to take these players, I could be happy with this draft, meh, or pissed.
Indifferent with the actual picks but the alternate picks on the other hand are great. OBJr/ASJ/SJB/Boston/Turner/BPA OLB or MLB works fine.
