On a lighter note, has anyone seen the Uber Eats ad featuring Fireman Ed? He's up there with Simone Biles, Mark Hammill, Patrick Stewart, Elton John and Lil Nas X. At least someone wearing a Jets uniform is moving up in the world.
I met him once in Florida at a Jets bar the day before the Miami game in 2001 - Wesley Walker was there too. Seems like a nice guy..
Seems like an odd choice but I'm happy to see some Jets gear getting national view with this commerical and the bud light mangold commercial
He grew up a Fins fan. Abandoned us when his vagina got sore because he felt Jets fans were "too mean" to Sanchez. Cool if you all like him, but I say, fu*k that guy.
I wonder if it's just regional. My wife is a cowboys fan and was confused why he's on the guys shoulders. Can't imagine the joke translates well to 90% who don't care about the Jets at all
Eh live and let live. He doesn't bother me good for him getting a commercial doesn't hurt me either way
I saw him a few times - he got the crowd going, which I always appreciated. Did this for years, and didn't do it for the money. He actually had to downgrade his season seats when Jets moved to MetLife, since the ones he had were too expensive for him to afford on the new one. So, now after many years of starting up the crowd at no charge, he got some money for commercial. I say good for him.
I said it in another thread last week, but I'm surprised Fireman Ed landed TWO commercials this season, given the state of this team going back to last year. Throw in Mangold's, too, and somehow the Jets are represented in three commercials.
I've heard he's a dick from some various tailgaters I used to be around in the late 2000s, but maybe that's not true? It always rubbed me the wrong way that he gave up on the team and then came back. Had all his tickets paid for and shit, including to away playoff games, and didn't even go to preseason?
I sat in 134 all the years at Giants stadium, same section as Ed. He was always a great fan. got the crowd up, sure...he wasn't the only one doing the JETS..but he's the one the team kept showing on the board. He got semi-famous and then the haters came at him. From what I know, he never let the Jets pay for his seats so he could say what he wanted. That's a real fan to me. But haters gonna hate..
