Have they identified the rifle yet. I would have thought that would have been one of the top priorities when it comes to reporting on the shooting.

Google has scrubbed most images of this shooter.

I searched 'Robert Crimo III' and it showed 5 images... that's weird.

This was up last night, but gone today. Not sure if it’s something with the camera, or he decided to move the tattoo to the other eye.

All the tattoos are reversed. It's the frame.

There really needs to be a mandatory two week cooling off period before you get a tattoo.

After all the warning signs he was still able to purchase guns legally.

Maybe I’m missing something, but other than creating violent music, what is there? There was one incident where his family called the cops on him, but there wasn’t enough for an arrest. I think there has to be something official , to warrant a red flag.

He threatened to kill everyone in 2019, was suicidal, and created violent social media post. Law enforcement showed up for that threat in 2019 and took away his collection of knives. That should have been enough for a redflag.

Still not enough. Had the cops found enough to arrest him/send him off for an evaluation it may be different. As far as the other stuff, imagine we red flagged people who creates violent content? Especially those who were applying it to music/film. Being suicidal, was a claim by a friend. Cant red flag people for things like that. It could be true, it could be a judgement by someone who simply didn’t like him in high school.
If people are genuinely concerned about a peer or family member, they need to start making official complaints . If there was some official documentation on this guys mental state, as well as the others like him, maybe they can be stopped.

Edit- I stand corrected on some of this , explained below.

That is the point of red flags laws though; to keep weapons rights under review for people who havent (yet) committed a crime but are a concern to those close to them.

If it had to reach the level of an arrest, they would just keep the existing laws and arrest him

I was just reading that the cops removed the knives from his home during that incident..: also, they responded to his suicide threat, saying it should be treated as a mental health issue. Those require paper work, which makes it official, which should be enough to flag him for a wait and review at the very least.

You would think but it appears the police dropped the ball. Oh and daddy sponsored it.. nice parenting

    ---

"Despite two troubling incidents in 2019, when Mr Crimo reportedly attempted suicide and later threatened to kill his whole family, and an Illinois “red flag” law meant to keep guns out of people at risk of being violent.

In December of 2019, at age 19, Mr Crimo applied for a state Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (FOID). Because he was under 21, his father sponsored the application.

Illinois State Police say that because neither 2019 incident lead to any charges, arrests, or firearms seizures, there wasn’t enough for them to declare a clear and present danger and deny the FOID application."
