No question. Mangini had the tools to get us to the playoffs and we failed MISERABLY.

It's all on him and he needs to go.

This game was the last straw for me. The Jets were playing against backups on offense

I don't think any NFL team will want him after this collapse. He's just not NFL material.

On a brighter side, as we are surely missing the playoff, Packers are getting 3rd round pick, not 2nd.

    Oh God.

His teams are far too frequently underprepared.

i agree its gonna be very hard for him to get a job. this collapse of the jets with so much talent is not gonna go unnoticed. the only way i woulda seen him keepin his job would be if he went 11-5 and won 3 straight but thats outta the picture. bye bye mangini, and sutton is obviously a goner as well. schotty, hmmmmmmm, yea him too. clean up time in jets land.

He won't find another job right away, but he'll eventually find one. His ties to Belichick and the parallels in their first head jobs will entice some team.

God, Herm was way more successful as a Jets head coach. Now that's just sad.

Fire him? Are you kidding? This team played inspired smashmouth passionate Football all season. For instance they came out most games with a great drive.

If it wasnt for the horrible pass rush, horrible kicking (mostly punting), generally poor special teams , horrible tackling, odd play calling, not going for it on 4th and 1 today, not giving Leon enough touches, Favre's ten bazillion interceptions, Wr drops, penalties at in-opportune times this season would be a rousing success.

Yes give Mangini a 10 year extension.

I'm sure all of you would be excited to have a new coach to complain about. It's the only thing that makes any of you happy.

Come on that is not true at all. I was never on any fire Mangini thread, never ever. It actually makes me sad that after 3 years this team with enough talent to win 12-13 games played about as uninspired and thoroughly piss poor game as I have ever seen with a season on the line. That falls on the coach and if this is the result after 3 years it is time to cut the losses and move on.

Well said. It is obvious that '08's late season collapse is due to the players and assistant coaches. The players inability to get fired up and execute and the assistant coaches inability to motivate and scheme has been our downfall.

No doubt we need 53 new players and about 12 new coaches. Then the Mangenius can really work his magic. I don't even mind waiting the next 10 years for him to rebuild the team in his image. I'll most likely live that long.
