Ive been patient with Mac, but he’s pulling the wool over our eyes. He’s similar to Idzik where he’s like “Wait till you see my plan next year!”. As much as I hated Idzik, he didn’t even get 3 years to see his plan through. We’ve given Mac 4 years and nothing. The team is worse than when he got it. Rebuilding is supposed to be a time where there is growing pains but you can see flashes. This team is directionless. Time to clean house.
Not even sure I care anymore, to be honest. The next duo are going to be just as inept as the two we've currently got in there.
I wonder how many Jets fans would support a new team if the Johnsons sold them and moved them to another city? It might be the only way to "break the addiction" we seem to have.
They might sell the team but nobody will move the Jets out of New York metro area. Put the Jets in say Oklahama the team value will take a dive. New York City brand adds to Jets value so Jets are here to stay but your question is a good hypothetical question.
I say New York Stepchilds. Fitting as the media is geared towards pleasing Giant fans and dumping on Jets is welcome in New York Sports Scene.
If they sell the team I'm not sure they don't get to keep the team name. Colts went from Baltimore to Indy and kept the name. I'm not sure how Cleveland kept the Browns name, whether it was part of the NFL contract with the city, or the NFL deciding that it was of historical interest to maintain the Cleveland Browns name, btu I doubt there would be any such restriction of moving the Jets name with the franchise. Oklahoma Jets...has sort of a nice ring to it.
I wasn't sure about MacCagnan getting fired before, but the talent level on the team has been exposed as being bad enough to warrant him going too.
Begrudgingly going to vote only Bowles. His pursuit for a qb ,from scouting to going all in on cousins and then quickly shifting to trading up has me thinking he could be setting something up. If they fire him, good money says they don’t, I won’t shed a tear.
They both should go given the lack of talent on the roster, especially on offense, and the awful coaching, but I doubt it'll happen.
They've both done such a great job, surely multi-year extensions are in order for the both of them. I mean, they have the millionaires playing hard. That's all that matters, isn't it?
When our season was spiraling out of control I was lukewarm to keeping Mac. As we hit December he has to go. Yes he has found some players but when you look at the big picture he has more misses than hits. He seems to be getting better with his drafting. His first two were awful. That being said as usual the back end of our roster is hurting because of it. His trade up for Darnold was good and to get something for Bridgewater was good too (we can debate if he waited he could have gotten more but at the time I was happy to get a 3rd and still am so can't knock him there). With all that being said can we trust him. $100 million to spend. Any free agent siginings we've had any good? Any of his drafts that you say wow he found some good players at that point? I can't say yes to any of them. For that reason I am starting to think he needs to go. While we are at the Jets need to change their hierarchy. Unfortunately the Johnson's aren't going anywhere. The Jets need a face. They need someone that would be a go between with the GM, Coach and owner. Someone that brings instant credibility. I don't know if he'd want the job or knows enough of the ins and outs but Curtis Martin to me would be a great face of the franchise. Fans love and respect him. I think he is very well respected in the NFL community and the players would see a great role model and legend to look up to. Let him be the face. Let him hire the GM and coach and have them report to him. Maybe their is someone else but I think it would help in changing the culture and this franchise.
I thoughts votes would be publicly visible. Why can't I see who the two posters are who voted to keep both Bowles and Mac? Are they posters from other teams?
He made what I thought was an excellent move for Darnold. I absolutely give him credit there. Other than that, I've seen very little to show me that he is an above average drafter. Leonard Williams/Darron Lee/Jamal Adams are all solid players. Adams may be great. Unfortunately, Mac has put very little effort into the offensive line and has yet to acquire a legitimate pass rusher. With all the picks he's had, I believe these should have been addressed. And he took Hackenberg in the second.
Perhaps it’s about the same or slightly better on paper, but the results are certainly no better than 2014. The point is that he hasn’t made an impact given the very low bar that he had to hurdle.0
