Should we have any interest? hes better than ramsey IMO but hes still not very good.

Also it seems that theyre banking everything on culpepper. WHat if hes not ready by september? WHo the hells the backup. Rosenfels isnt there any more. They may be in the same time of qb as we are in.

hahaha...I actually laughed out loud to this post.

Do we really need to discuss every person that becomes available as a possible Jet? I am pretty sure it is safe to say Gus will not be a Jet.

hmmmmmmm........well, we wouldn't have to give up any picks for him, and he'd be cheap. He didn't play that bad with the Phins last year either. I'd consider if the Skins don't bite on 6th or 7th.

I was always a fan of Gus Frerotte, but I hope the Jets don't want anything to do with him. Honestly, if Chad can't stay healthy, I'd rather the Jets just give the ball to Bollinger or a rookie QB and let him get baptised by fire. Kitna was the only vet that could probably come in and hold the fort, but now we're just scraping at the bottom of the barrel.

Why is this funny? Im not a newb posting random shiiiittt. Ferotte is the same type of player as ramsey, kitna and shaub. If were interested in them why wont we be interested in ferotte as a veteran to compete with chad. He did win 9 games afterall last season. Considering were at an impasse in the ramsey talks and kitna signing with the lions, this might be another alternative.

Okay, no..he will not come to New York as a Jet, and don't concern yourself with the Dolphins...Just think if we injure Culpepper, they're screwed.

And as for Gus, there is only one owner in the NFL dumb enough to go for him.

    Al Davis.

It would be similar to bringing in Fiedler last year. Both are old semi- capable back-ups. If we don't draft a QB, then we have to bring in someone. There are alot worse than him. I don't like giving up a pick for someone who will only be here a year like Ramsey.

This is a great idea. We could sign Ferotte and have him headbut the wall everytime we score to fire up the team.

One thing I liked about Frerotte in Miami, is that he never crumbled under the heat of a good pass rush. He was great at standing his ground and finding the open man. Chambers had his best season ever with Frerotte starting too....

He's a solid, serious player. He may not be great, but he's tough, and has character. I enjoyed the one season we had with Gus....

    lol.......funny.

But seriously, people are acting like we have a ton of options. Its really Ramsey or a guy like Frerotte. And last time I checked, Ramsey isn't a world beater. Gus at least started played all 16 games last year and while he didn't light up the world, he was a solid stop gap guy, just what we need for this team. We're not gonna sign him for 7 years and big money, but with him, Penny and the QB of the future we draft, I could think of worse scenarios.
