http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/8070/jets-o-embarrassing-irritating-frustrating Jets O 'embarrassing, irritating, frustrating' December, 21, 2009 Dec 21 9:13 PM ET Mark Sanchez threw three interceptions. Thomas Jones, the star back of the NFL's best rushing offense, averaged 2.7 yards a carry. Jones and perennial Pro Bowl guard Alan Faneca committed unnecessary roughness penalties at costly times. They missed three field goals for three different reasons. The New York Jets offense choked away a phenomenal opportunity to surge ahead of five teams in the AFC playoff race. Instead, they're on the threshold of irrelevancy after Sunday's numbing home loss to the Atlanta Falcons. "We're embarrassing on offense," Jets receiver Braylon Edwards said. "Forget the stats and 'This is where we are rushing the football.' We're not making plays when it counts, and we are continuously in a situation that is embarrassing, irritating, frustrating coming in on Monday, knowing that we could have won yesterday then we would be ahead and almost certain, if we won the rest of our games, to get in [the playoffs]. "Now here we are again, if we win out, we have to have this scenario happen [to make it]. It's irritating." And this is a guy who played for the Cleveland Browns. The Jets have the NFL's best scoring defense, best total defense (by nearly a 30-yard margin) and best pass defense. They also rank first in rushing offense, but 18th in scoring offense and 21st in total offense. Despite their dynamic defense, they are minus-4 in turnover ratio. "We have to ask ourselves, 'Do we really want to get in the playoffs on offense?' " Edwards said. "The defense is doing everything they can. They are playing lights out for us. "We have to ask ourselves on offense, 'Do we really want to go to the playoffs? Is this something that everybody on this team wants? Every position, every coach, is this something that we really want?' Because right now it doesn't look that way." The best part was "And this is a guy who played for the Cleveland Browns." haha. He's 100% right we are failing in epic fashion on offense. I understand Sanchez is a project rookie QB due to the fact he had played in a whopping 16 games in college but I was at the game and I walked away feeling robbed and absolutely ashamed that our offense couldn't produce anything against the 3rd worst pass defense in the NFL. Sure we got a 65 yard TD but that was all Edwards smoking his man. Nice throw but dude didn't have anyone close to him. Sanchez hasn't made any plays lately and this is coming from one of his supporter. Hopefully he fixes these stupid problems and stops using the phrase"Its a good learning experience" because its been a disgusting experience to watch. My brother said he looks like Tony Homo on a bad day out there. Terrible
If every team gave up on their QB's after their rookie year we'd have no QB's in the league and no HOF QB's. This crap does no happen over night or even a year. The amount of information Mark has to process now in split seconds would cause nervous breakdowns to most people. I've been beating this horse for a while but they took his football instincts out of the equation and by trying to over simply it they actually made it more complicated. Schotty is too cute and just needs to stick to the basics. Hopefully they can let Mark get into a rhythm just once this year to see what he can really do. Braylon and Dustin are great targets we need to start running more plays short and across the middle to get Mark into a rhythm. It sounds like a broken record-
