64/65 AP voters vote Florida #1. One voter puts Boise State #1. #2 Ohio State #3 LSU #4 USC #5 Boise State Wisconsin, Michigan, and Louisville follow.
The voters around the country should have took a stand and voted boise number 1. Honestly, i kid about my hatred towards UF, but even if Ohio won, id say the same thing. An undefeated team deserves the shot at the Championship. Give me playoffs!
I'd vote them #1 as a protest against the current system. 1)Boise State 2)USC 3)Florida 4)Ohio State 5)LSU
No way is Boise State #1. They beat a watered down Oklahoma and there is no question Florida is superior team.
there needs to be an 8 team playoff. Unfortunately, it won't happen until 2010 when the BSC contract expires
having an 8 team playoff that is based on opinion polls in which 8 other teams can make a reasonable argument for being included isn't any less subjective than a two team National Chamionship game determined by opnion polls in which 2 other teams make arguments that they should be in the game. unless opinion polls are eliminated from the equation, a playoff doesn't help settle any national champion dispute. 8 team playoff, BCS game, they are both equally arbitrary if the same factors are used to determine the participants. the problem isn't the BCS, it is in the entire poll system, which a playoff will be based on as well.
An 8 team playoff waters down the regular season and it means these kids could play 2 or 3 more games. Thats a lot to ask for a college student.
After years of debate, I'm starting to be converted to the idea that a set BCS game may be better then a National Championship game. The fact that losing one game likely ends your national title hopes, and two you're definitely out is a great thing for college football. Every single game really counts now, and no 8-4 team deserves an equal chance to a 12-0 one (as Florida State would have last year). Every game counts in college, and it just adds an extra excitement to the sport. My top 5: 1. Florida (They're the champs) 2. USC (fantastic performance against a very well-balanced team) 3. LSU (Showed that Charlie Weis is not the offensive God) 4. Ohio State (Looked disgusting and unprepared, but still had an amazing year) 5. Boise State (Join the damn Pac-10 already and put yourselves on the map for good)
