The Dolphins don't have much film to study how our new QB is developing. Of course they have plenty of our RB's rushing the gut. Saturday Forte' will be out so it's up to Bilal. As far as our film on Matt Moore, it's mostly ancient but still helpful. It's up to the DC to set up the right schemes. And especially in the 2nd half. Our OC has to have a whole new group of plays for Petty. And work the TE into the route tree. I want to destroy the Fins!
Shitty season or not, If having a young QB with his second game named as starter with a chance to ruin the Dolphins chance at the playoffs during primetime doesnt interest you, you should probably quit watching altogether.
Jenkins actually had a pretty good game last weekend. I think since a blocking TE is so important in this system he may not ever get the starting nod over Bostick but it's obvious he has some long term potential.
So "stinkyB" also want to see us beat the Fins and help shoot down their playoff chances. Yes, yes, yes!
I agree, this game means something to the fins, it's a chance to see Petty against a truly hungry team that will go all out and try to make his life impossible all game. It may be a meaningless game for the jets, but it's not a meaningless game for Petty, if he is going to grow as a QB, he needs to go into this game with the mentality that it's a playoff type of atmosphere on the field.
This is a game where they're really going to need to get the running game going, and not put so much pressure on Petty to carry the team. If they ask him to win this with his arm it could get ugly. They aren't the Niners.
We're also going to see how Wesley Johnson does against one of the still elite interior lineman in Suh. Could be as much of an audition for him in 2017 as it is for anyone. He faired OK against Suh although the interior line did surrender a sack to him in the first meeting.
You mean we'll have to get by without your positive input in the gameday thread? Ouch... This is another watershed moment in Petty's Jet Career. He'll be playing on Saturday Nite in the cold rain against a divisional opponent and longtime rival. This particular opponent also still has playoff aspirations so they'll bring a lil bit extra to this game. If Petty plays well? He'll be one step closer to winning the 2017 job. If he manages to WIN this game, especially with last minute heroics, he'll start to build his legend here in the Tri-State. Petty can absolutely make his bones on Saturday nite.. Go out there Kid and leave the butterflies on the sidelines. Play your game and make your Football Idol proud!!! You got nuthin to lose Kid and everything to gain...
