I'm sorry but this guy has been using his "Shoulder" as an excuse...he just looks like his arms about to fall off and comes out throwing bullets...he's been holding that shoulder for 2 months... i see right through it
I tend to agree....if it is as bad as he is making it out to be, how did he throw that heater to Keller at the goal line? Put Kellen in in the 4th if it's out of reach,....Teacher vs. apprentice for the final 1/4 of the game.
I doubt he's faking it. He hurt it trying to make a tackle, it wouldn't be the reason for the interception anyway.
your right...he just pranced back onto the field an threw bullets all over the place...shoulder really must be killing him
True, the opposing QB went through a season with a torn rotator cuff and never mentioned it. Favre on the other hand...
Packer fan here. Favre's not faking... exactly. He does wear his emotions on his shirtsleeve, and can be a bit of a drama queen at times, like he's acting in a Hollywood movie.
Two things: One, Favre never even MENTIONED the possbility of a injury until this week, when the jets were pretty much a hope and prayer to get into the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers was the same way in GB: Shoulder injury, holding it all the time, yet was making bullet pass after bullet pass. You just don't know the extensiveness of a injury. I mean, Favre can play with pain, a lot of people can. It's usually one of those things you wind it up, fire it, and then the shooting pain happens after the throw. Favre sure as hell got his ass kicked this year. Just a horrible offensive line blocking. Those thinking chad does better: I just don't know the record gets better with the pass blocking, and defensive play, the jets have.
My sympathies to Jets' fans. While Brett didn't get you into the playoffs, he did give you some thrills. That, he does very well, and people will definitely pay to see him play. You can't argue with the records he's set, but he just got too big in Green Bay. He felt himself bigger than the entire rest of the organization, and nobody's been able to tell him what to do since Holmgren left; they didn't even dare try. This attitude made him a problem last year to a team that had game plans that he didn't feel he had to follow. When he couldn't even follow the plan for his own retirement/unretirement, that's where a real line was drawn in the sand between him and management. Against management's wishes, he showed up for training camp like Jesus on an ass, his fans singing his hosannas. They had a very serious meeting, and he still could have played for he Packers if he would have agreed to compete for the job, but he felt this beneath him, and demanded to be traded instead. I'm sure he underwent some sort of reality check in reporting to the Jets. He still has one hell of an arm, loves to play the game, and is great fun to watch. I sure hope he doesn't keep Jets' fans hanging on his decision to retire or not like did with the Packers the past few years.
...and now you know Lifetime Packer fan here. 1st post. Its been fun watching the Brett Favre saga from afar. The up and down of his Jets tenure. I've watched almost every game of BF's 'legendary' career. And now you know. Its not that the Packers had a better season this year without BF. It was that we were ready to move on from all the diva BS, the drama, the holding of the franchise hostage. The me, myself and I attitude that is Brett Favre. The supposed legacy of magic that was built on the years 1995-1998 that hasn't come through in the 2000s. Now you know why people were just ready to see him go in Wisconsin. Now you know why he's the most overrated athlete in the history of the NFL. Its not that he hasn't had a great career, a HOF career. Its just that the legend is so much more myth than reality...people here were downright tired of hearing how magical BF was and then watch him do very un-clutch things, like throwing the losing INT in the NFC championship game. And if you didn't know before, then watching him run off the field after the game without congratulating anyone or owning up to his own sh!tty performance and sticking with his teammates should tell you how much BS is built into the supposed greatness of Brett Favre. Sorry Jets fans. Here's hoping your franchise isn't dumb enough to let him hold you hostage another year with his retirement cr@p like he did the Packers and Wisconsin the last 5. Something tells me you're smarter than the Wisconsin people here with their BF shrines in their basements. Good luck to the Jets fan next season.
Just watch Favre drag out his possible "retirement" for the entire summer. Jets should give him the heave ho today. Get Cassell from New England.
