Being that he is back in the Nfl for another team wasnt it in contract that we get some type of draft picks back for him or something to that degree.. and does this apply to him just signing with the team or he has to make it through the season? it would be great to pick up some draft picks...

    No.

We were supposed to get a 7th rounder back if he retired but Tanny decided to give it back to Green Bay "in good faith" or some bullshit.

    No.

If the Jets traded him to an NFC North team we owed them 3 first round picks. Think about what you're saying. Why the hell would Green Bay ever agree to such a term?

The Jets released him. He was free to sign with whoever he wanted. The Jets had no rights to him what so ever.

Exactly. Under no circumstance will the Jets be getting/giving up any picks because Favre is playing this year

Tanny probably felt guilty that Favre was going back to Minny against Ted Thompson's/ and the rest of GB's wishes...

Yep. He did this to ensure GB would be a willing trade partner in the future. After all, Aaron Rodgers has to flip flop on retiring at some point, and I'm sure NY would love a temp.

Tanny gave the pick back to nullify the "poison pill' stipulation from the trade agreement so there would be no stipulations on our first round pick in 09 or the next two drafts. We could not have traded up to get Sanchez if there was still a possibility of Green Bay laying claim to our first round pick.

There was no possibility of GB laying claim to any picks of ours unless we traded Favre to an NFC North team. It was a retarded move no matter how you slice it IMO.

Your hatred should be towards the Vikings and not Favre..they are the enablers here..if they weren't so willing to accept him this would have been over weeks ago.

what makes me laugh is that if Sanchez is successful, people will love the fact that we had favre for one season and cheer is HOF induction.

Tell me again how we are supposed to get draft picks for a free agent?

Any chance I had of applauding Farve into the HOF is over. This guy is all about "me, me, me". He has shamed his legend in Greenbay and I honestly believe that he will bomb in Minesotta and de-rail any chance they had of making the SB or even make the play-offs.

I find that hard to believe. He tanked our season last year with that injury, and furtherm......ah nevermind.
