I believe that the poster with the positive post of Kellen Clemens was on to something, hence this post. The best thing about Mangold is that he comes from a recent succes of centers at OSU, with LaCharles Bentley possible a top 3 center...He's from a winning program, played in big games and has the ability to play the guard spots. He's athletic, just like Brick, and has the ability to get stronger and learn some things from kendall, tricks of the trade perhaps. Nothing like a guy with long blonde locks either...what they doin over in Ohio, no barbers in town (aj hawk hair too)
Mangold was in my opinion the steal of Round one. This may be the most complete player in the draft. The guy does everything really well. I like his toughness though.
He also is maybe the best center prospect the last 5 years. Ifwe had to replace Mawae this is the guy I wanted b4 the draft. He called the reads for the line at Ohio State n he is a well liked guy in the lockerroom
HELL YES!!! Just like when Clinton was in office. I like the man who is like his people. Of all that went down this past weekend this is BY FAR the best.
Nick mangold will be the next mawae, and our oline all of a sudden can be a top 10 oline. Moore got better than last year and this year can get better than that. Kendall will be kendall. Mangold will shine. Ferguson will hold his own, being from long island so the comfort issue is not a problem, we have real good oline coaches, and after seeing game film and reading articles on him, and checking combine numbers, he will not be a mike williams or robert gallery, those two were considered maulers, power blockers, ferguson is more considered a s a finesse blocker, athletic, not a power blocker, he has great feet something mike and robert really didnt have, and fergy has better technique than mike williams and robert gallery, i think fergy will be our franchise LT.
Thank God our worst player on the offensive line now isn't going to be at the LT spot anymore... (Adrian Jones) These were great draft picks... future lookinng bright in Gang Green land!
I agree with everything you said with the possible exception of the coaching. Miami's O-line was horrible while Tony Wise was there. That may be mainly because of talent or poor coaching, but the fact remains they sucked.
2 Questions: 1) What is their connection to Pat Tillman (other than football)? 2) Is Jones going to be shifted back to RT? If so, that probably means we will use a zone blocking scheme in the Denver mold. Our OL personnell will be suited for that.
Best part about him is his name. You can almost hear that NFL Films guy saying, "And on the touchdown scoring run, offensive center Nicholas Man-gold had an excellent block, springing the running back into the open field."
