“Fast Willie” Parker could be our “fire” in a 3 headed “earth” Greene “Wind” Leon. I know the guy has had durability issues over the past two years, hence the emergence of Mendonhal, but with 5-8 carries a game I think he could be very effectieve. But do you guys like a 2-3 year incentivized deal for a 29 year old back? I think he makes the most sense of the free agent RB’s out there right now. This would free us up to focus on a DE and a OLB in the draft…I don’t think C. Washington is ready yet to be the #3.

    Is he an UFA?

If so why not. However I'd prefer to go with Greene, Jones, Parker and have leon as a special teams player.

I feel Parker/ Washington have similar styles as do Jones/Green.

I'm fairly certain he's a UFA and off limits to us, at least for now.

Please don't call it that. And I'd rather have someone that can take over full time if worst comes to worst. I don't trust Parker to be able to do that.

Parker is an injury problem waiting to happen. I'm hoping our second rounder is going to be the HB we need. Blount, Gerhart or Ben Tate.

why do people insist that our RBBC has a corny nickname/gimmick?

I dont even mind corny names for our HB tandem.

But lets not steal them from the giants.

Thunder & lightning ? Earth Wind and Fire ? We might as well start calling our defense the Jmen, and ask our players to start doing that "Ballin" celebration.

    Lets be original, thx

The reason people associate a "nickname" with a compelation of players is because its fun. Denver and the 3 amagios started it in the 80's. The reason why we don have a "full time guy" take over as you sugest is because the way we run the ball we do need 3 backs to carry #1 back-15-20 #2 back 8-10 #3 back 3-5. So no one guy would be able to do that in a full year. the feature back idea is a thing of the past my friend.....hence the nicknames

Makes it fun, I meant who wants to use names?? lol

How about 2 and half men if we pick up a third good back.

    Shonn is pretty short

its not fun when people force nicknames that don't work or steal them from other teams.

We already had that with Green, Jones and an injured Leon.

regardless of name, I think Willie would be a low cost option for a year or two

No, he would cost us the ability to sign another UFA, and likely a better one. It's a moot point until Feely definitely signs elsewhere.

Oh do you? You say no to Chester. How convenient, since we are completely unable to sign him, too.

If someone signs Leon, I wouldn't mind Parker to fill in his shoes.
