FALCONS RELEASE JOE HORN Posted by Michael David Smith on August 19, 2008, 1:19 p.m. Joe Horn got his wish: He?s no longer an Atlanta Falcon. Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the Falcons have given Horn his unconditional release, meaning he?s now an unrestricted free agent and able to sign with any team. Per Schefter, the Falcons paid Horn the $2.5 million that was guaranteed in his contract, which may explain why Horn gave an interview on ESPN shortly after his release in which he had nothing but good things to say about the franchise. The 36-year-old Horn started 12 games for the Falcons last season, catching 27 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown.
I'd take him on a 2 year heavy back end deal. I doubt he has anything left in the tank but his name would push the younger guys we've got. Hell, even with two bad knees and a delicate hip he'd probably start on our sad WR corps.
