Hey guys, I just wanted to gauge everyone's opinion on what you think the jet's record will be next season. I understand the draft has still yet to happen, but for the sake of this argument assume that Marcus Mariota DOES NOT play for the Jets next season (this could mean that he is drafted and sits a season or the jets do not draft him at all)
I think we are a 10 win team as of today. With potential for more pending play of the quarterback. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The talent is there but we are the Jets and supernatural forces are at play here. I'm expecting 6-10 every year for the rest of my life as a defense mechanism.
Can't give a number, unless I know who the QB is going to be. Smith, defense gets us to 7-8 wins Fitz , we get to 9-10 wins, also this would be Fitz's best season ever as a pro. Hopefully we get someone better and then with this defense we could finally win the division. Wish we could trade for Austin Davis or Glennon if we miss on Mariota.
Depends almost exclusively on Qb play. 5 at worst, 11 at best. I predict 9-7 with Geno, 10-6 with Fitzmagic.
I think it's a pretty safe gamble that Fritz is going to be QB and I don't really think that highly of him but I can say that I think the Jets will win 9 games this year
IF Fitzpatrick is the starter, I dont see why this team cant make the playoffs (assuming he plays well). Fitzpatrick, as sad as it sounds, is the best QB we've had in year. If the Jets can go 9-7, 11-5, 8-8 with poor QB play. They can do that with adequate QB play, more playmakers on offense, and a very talented defensive group.
The schedule and the defense make 9-10 entirely possible. (Jaguars, Titans, Redskins, Raiders, Giants, Browns, Texans all very winnable)
On paper right now, we are a 10 win team. If Fitzpatrick plays like he did under Gailey before, we have upgraded a lot at QB. Defense is gonna be crazy good. Ivory is a stud. Brandon Marshall and Decker should have big years, especially Decker. Marshall should take a lot of pressure off him. I think our floor is 9 wins, honestly. This team has done a complete 360 in talent and we have a easy schedule next season.
contend for the playoffs. cant see anything less, just have a hard time seeing a D this good flopping. the O is still questionable, so I cant foresee a division crown… yet, but maybe a wild card berth?
I see a lot of cautious optimism in this thread but this is the best translatable to field results offseason I've seen in 6 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know Jets fans love hyperbole, but I truly don't see a reason why this can't be the best defense in the NFL. I just hope we can crack the top 20 on O.
BUFFALO, H/A NEW ENGLAND, H/A vs MIAMI @ MIAMI (London) vs TENNESSEE vs JACKSONVILLE @ INDIANAPOLIS @ HOUSTON vs PHILADELPHIA vs WASHINGTON "@" NEW YORK @ DALLAS vs CLEVELAND @ OAKLAND
If Fitz starts I can see us being a 10-6 team. I love everything they did in this offseason, excited for the draft.
I think we are a pass rusher and safety away of being #1 defense. I'm not saying without them we are not a top 5 or top 3, I'm saying the #1.
The team is much improved and the defense could be straight nasty, but unfortunately the two most important parts of the offense are pretty poor
I'm going 7 or 8 wins since we still have questions at oline and qb I no we got carpenter but how big of a difference will he make
