Is it just me or does it feel like all the players who are on other teams now are lightin it up? Chad - Incredibly Efficient 17-22 Moss - Catching Bombs every week, 5th in the NFL Rec. Abraham- 2 more sacks yesterday gives him 6 to lead the NFL E.Coleman- 10 Tackles a FF and an INT yesterday. Jordan - Kinda killed us and is looking solid. D.Ward - 9 for 80 yds. While Vilma and D.Rob are still making adjustments. I'm sure Vilma will show up on the radar soon.... I just felt the need since there are so many people on this board who bitch about good players on the team.
We never should have gotten rid of Santana and Abraham when he is healthy has a bigger impact in the game then Mangold does and is a top 5 pass rusher, who could have easily adjusted the 3-4 as a linebacker.Everyone else i dont really care about.
Ok, Moved? How the hell is this NOT JETS related? It's about Ex-Jets. There are similar threads and some that have nothing to do with the JETS over there.... ...OH well.
I totally disagree... we need guys that are healthy and show up regularly. Santana was and still is a puss when it comes to his hammy and how he plays the game. Sure, he'll light it up now and again.. but he's not consistent. His production will fall off, or he'll end up hurt again. Same with Abraham. We've seen this guy coming out the gate raising hell before. By game 7 or 8 he's nursing his sore groin.
You can't agonize over every ex-Jet who is playing well. We had good reasons for making every single one of those moves. Chad had a great game yesterday. He's going to have maybe 4 games like that a year. He was helped by an incredibly effective running game and great playcalling. Moss is a great little receiver. At the time I thought we got the better of the deal in getting Coles back. Now, I'm thinking that I'd much rather have Moss. Oh well....what are you gonna do?? Nobody should second guess the decision to get rid of Abraham. The guy has insane talent but was wildly inconsistent, one-dimensional and at times pretty soft when it came to playing hurt. Eric Coleman?? Are you kidding me?? Jordan - always liked the guy. Hated to see him go. No way we should have paid him crazy $$ when we still ha Martin. D. Ward - Jets gave up on him too early. Would be nice to have a guy like this in our backfield this year. The one guy I'd really like to have back.....Kareem McKenzie.
wait wait wait, your saying we shouldn't have let our starting RT go without any kind of a replacement? I mean jeez you are asking way to much there I mean 4 years later we got a decent replacement in Woody...
Yeah, it's always the case with the Jets. I still think it's the conservitive play calling. These guy's go to other teams and the play book is more open for them. Plus, it's that damn black cloud over this team for years.
I agree with you. The only guy who would really make a big difference to still have would be Mckenzie. He's been a consistently above average right tackle for the Giants every year. Rarely gets hurt and is good against the run and pass. He's a guy that never should have reached free agency.
Funny how playing on a shitty defense seems to inflate Vilma's numbers. Gald he's playing well so we get a better pick because he could obviously not make it in a 3-4 Defense. Chad is Chad. Ask him to not win a game and he can look good. Make him be the guys making plays late and your more often screwed then not. We traded Moss to get Coles back and Abe to get Mangold, so good riddance. Coleman, Jordan and Ward were castoffs. Jordan is the third back on the Pats. I don't exactly miss him. The only reason he looked great against us is that our offense could not stay on the field and left our D out to dry. We still have a vastly improved run D. Coleman is onyl a so-so talent and Ward is looking good for the NYG, but is not exactly a wolrd beater of a RB.
