https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2020/...am-gase-limited-use-twitter-like-leveon-bell/ Not a big fan of rookies bitching about playing time, but the kid should be used more. Just evidence that Gase is losing the lockerroom and a change has to be made or else the team will disintegrate into 53 guys that show up on Sundays for a paycheck.
This is absolutely ridiculous. He is the future or he's not. He should be starting honestly, trade Bell for a 7th.
RB is one of the easiest positions to transition from college to the pros. How would Perine have too much on his plate? Gase really wants to use Gore as much as possible doesn't he?!
Can't blame Gase here but this is when JD needs to step in....ownership needs to step in...play your rookies, develop talent. It sucks Gase but you need to do things the right way here. Nothing you can do will save your job.
My hope is Gase will phase Frank Gore out as the year progresses, there is no reason for him to be the bell cow. Ideally Perine should get 10-15 TOUCHES a game by week 10-16 he's only averaging 4 per game now Bell- 11 Touches per game Gore- 13 Touches per game
Perine is 1000% right and Gase is 1000% handling the backfield incorrectly. But then again, if you've followed Gase since Miami, this should come as no surprise. See: Gore and Drake. That's what makes this all ten times more frustrating: anyone with a brain saw this coming... unfortunately our owner is brainless.
This is why we need to get rid of Gase. Even with an interim coach they realize that they will not likely be the future HC but it’s a good way to show the league what they’re made of. There’s no way Boyer or Williams trots out Gore for 15 carries a game because it doesn’t do anything for them as coaches. They will be mostly likely told to play the rookies and young players in a lost season and generate a spark.
This is truly crazy..... but maybe it's part of the "genius's" grand maniacal longterm vision to keep Perine and Bell fresh for next season after they go 0-16, trade their draft picks for functional players to come out next season on FIIIYAAAAA!......... CHAMPIONSHIP!
yes and no. running the ball is a fairly simple transition. blocking blitzing lbs and understanding protections is not. that is why you will often see rookies on first downs but not on passing downs.
has it come to fans and media worrying about tweets that players like? not even things they say or tweet, its now gone to the next level.
It’s not a defense it’s just not a good stat. Bell went out in game 1 so he had way less touches than if he played the full game. Then he had 1 game back being eased in from injury.
All good until Perine makes a rookie mistake that costs us a game. Then: "Why the fuck is Gase putting the game in the hands of a rookie when he has Bell AND Gore on the sidelines??? Gase must go!!!"
