Tied with the Broncos but hey they got a Super Bowl that year and look like they will be back in the playoffs soon. So much parity in this league, especially with the extra playoff spot. It's almost impossible to not make the playoffs in this league every few years but somehow the Jets will have a 15 year drought with the last relevant season being in 2015. Every bad team ended their droughts to except the Jets. Never ever would I have believed you if you told me after the championship game in Pittsburgh that we would be entering the 2025 season and still have not been back since.
Geezz...not only has there been a drought but the last 1% of moisture was sucked out this year and the weather on the horizon says "no rain" for a decade...at LEAST. The NY Jets make Death Valley appear to be the Rain Forest in comparison...
Exactly. I don't know why everybody gets hyped up over that glorified preseason game they play in early February. As all Jets fans know, the actual Super Bowl happens in late spring.
Look at it this way - this year the Jets have just started the longest off-season on record! CAN'T WAIT!
You don't win offseason championships without lots of prep work. Gotta trick those dumbass Jets fans into thinking we have a fresh start.
You know how smart Jets fans are? They rush into the stadium to buy a beer that costs as much as a twelve pack they can drink in the parking lot. The next game everyone should have an extra beer or two and a bag of chips before they go into the stadium. The empty seats at kickoff time will look great on television and the Jets will lose revenue. So what if you miss most of the first quarter? How many points have the Jets scored that early in the last two years anyway? While they're at it they should all carry signs with messages for Johnson while they mill around outside waiting to go through security. I'm sure the cameras would love that!
Yup! Not only have they not hit on a SB since 1969 but the Jets are considered one of the worst drafting teams over the last 10 or 20 years. <sigh> Yet again, they only do well at MARKETING all the good things they intend to do. LOL!
If the Jets ever start to win consistently our fan base will start killing themselves out of confusion.
I remember listening to the pregame show on the radio before the 1998 AFC Championship game. They were saying that Parcells told the team to seize the moment there are no guarantees. You don't start the following season from where last season left off have to do it all over again. I never forgot it. Rex was so full of it. He all but abandoned Ground n Pound in the first half of that AFC Championship game I think they only ran the ball 3 times in that first half? Got down 24-0 almost came back when they went back to playing Ground n Pound but abandoned it again at the goal line with a chance to tie. That's how I remember it. That was beginning of the end for that Jets team. Ground N Pound was a huge part of it's identity much like this 2024 Jets team with the defense before Coach Saleh was let go. The NFL doesn't want Ground N Pound Rex went where the league was going but it destroyed that team.
That loss was on the defense in the first half. Mendenhall ran all over them. I still believe to this day if the defense had made one stop against Ben at the end, Sanchez was going to pull the game out of the fire and send the Jets to the Super Bowl. Seemed like destiny.
