KC went 5-0 and then lost 2 back to back one to us, hey look over there, some pigs are flying in formation.
That would be so typical of the Jets though to beat a team people think they have no business competing with in the midst of a shitty losing season. While we have had our share of blowouts against dominant teams, overall I think we step up and compete more against good teams than we do blowing the doors off or beating shitty teams. We tend to play down to the competition in those cases. Of course I really don’t think we beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead, they may hang 50 on us.
definitely not. But this simulator has our Jets beating the defending SB champs on the road to get to 4-4. If it played out like that we would be thinking playoffs at that time
The Jets start out (4-4) including a win against the Chiefs, and then completely tank the easier part of their schedule to go (5-11)? That actually sounds kind of Jets-like.
5-11 is a possibility IF 1) We have an injury flare up again 2) Sam doesn't progress 3) Oline improvements don't pan out Right now, fandom aside, I think we are more of that 7-9 or 8-8 level, based on Oline being better than last year, Sam being better and defense remaining a top 10. Those items alone will keep us in games.
I hope people aren’t expecting instant results from the OL. I’d be surprised and disappointed if the OL ends up being worse than last seasons unit, but I’d expect a lot of growing pains at the start. Growing pains that will impact Sam’s progression. That why I’m surprised at this ESPN prediction. If anything, I’d expect the opposite of what they’re saying. Jets are terrible early on, then put it together down the stretch (again).
There's still an MTV too. I'm waiting for that epic crossover where ESPN starts airing the Teen Mom series.
I think we can be 5-11 if even one of those things is true. The OL is going to struggle right off the bat and the good news is thats right when we are playing the hardest stretch of games. That means Sam is going to struggle. We just have to hope guys likes Herndon, Mims and a properly used Bell give Sam enough of a shot at making some plays. But then again you need a coach that can use them all properly and draw up good plays...
