There is an ESPN insider article/rumor central thing on Abe-to-Denver, I know ESPN Insider really just repeats what it says in the newspapers, but I haven't seen any articles on a possible trade. Can anyone post it? Thanks.

It says nothing, just saying that they need to make more room, cuz they only have 5 million extra and they will need over 8

The Broncos' first choice to replace him may be to swing a trade with the New York Jets for defensive end John Abraham, who has had at least 10 sacks in his past four full seasons.

However, Abraham is scheduled to make $8.33 million next season, and the Broncos are expected to be less than $5 million under the salary cap by today's deadline

If they can agree to a long term deal with JAbe, his cap number could be much less than that $5mil.

Yes, but tommorow is the deadline where you HAVE to be under at all times. So they wouldn't have the chance to. They would have to clear more cap space.

They don't have to get the trade done by tomorrow do they?? The Broncos can be only 5 mill under the cap, clear through tomorrow, and then work on a longer deal with abe right?? am i missing something?

The trade can't be announced untill tommorow, BUT they can't trade for abe untill they clear more space in the cap. Because they first have to have enough room to get him before they can even think about negotiating a long term deal.

If Abraham gets the 18 mil signing bonus he wants, since it can only be spread out over 4 years, his cap hit should be well over 5 mil per year. Denver would have to clear more room.

Right... and Peyton will go to the Lions for a 5th rounder.

I'm sorry man but there is no way they give up both firsts... I'm hoping we get one of the two.
