On the Tirico show they are now saying the Dolphins have also brought Gholston into negotiations to be the number one pick. Sounds like whoever gives them the best deal may be the pick.

i would be rather surprised if it were gholston. I am pretty surprised they're even negotiating with him. Chris Long seems like a better player overall. I don't think his roof is as high as gholston's but i think Chris is a much more sure thing than Gholston and a great 3-4 player. In the end though, i think jake long will be the pick

there negotiating with all of the top prospects trying to drive the price down, Ill bet that it will come out there negotiating with Matt Ryan etc.. and ultimately a day before the draft it will come out they signed Chris Long

This is a very smart move by the Dolphins. If you were a top 5 pick, you would certainly want to make discounted #1 money rather than risking making #4 or #5 money. If Long holds out for more money thinking if the Dolphins go with someone else, he'll go #2 to the Rams, he might hold out, allowing someone else (like Gholston) to undercut him with a cheaper offer. That would be very interesting...

I think Jake is still the front runner for the #1. His agents are the same that represent Joe Thomas, and they are using that contract plus the percentage increase to get a deal done. With J. Long going #1, C. Long and Gholston begin to tumble. If Dorsey goes #2, then one of them falls to us guaranteed.
